Not that I would put this under "amazing" by any stretch of the imagination.. but impactful perhaps? God yes. I pretty much thought of this film everytime I went thru underpasses for the next 5 years.

I really got no idea where. For some reason I've always thought Mt Macedon type region or out past Geelong but never really looked up where it was filmed.

Would truly be weird to got to the Palmer house in Fire Walk With Me.
I think people come from all over the world to visit that house and the owner lets people in as long as they contacted well in advance.

Filming began in February 1975 with principal photography taking six weeks. Locations included Hanging Rock in Victoria, Martindale Hall near Mintaro in rural South Australia, and at the studio of the South Australian Film Corporation in Adelaide.

Hills were alive with music when I saw this as a kid.

Arguably one of the greatest of all time.

I’m sure some scenes were filmed at weribee mansion too.

Fun fact* point cook homestead was owned by the brother of the guy who built weribee mansion

Hanging rock is awesome, if you’re a fan of hiking weribee gorge is cool too, there’s actually a section where you have to traverse a rope course over water if you wanna feel like a bad ass

Arguably one of the greatest of all time.

I remember my Mum took me to somewhere to see that as a kid.
I also remember this scene where Paul Hogan comes on the scene and shoots her.

The talented mr.Ripley made 50s (60s maybe) Italy look ridiculously cool.

The revenant has some of the most breathtaking scenery ever filmed

Heart strings are definitely tugged whenever you watch something like The Big Steal from the early 90s (or earlier films) + the old Melbourne area/streets/freeways that have long since changed or disappeared all together.

Yeah, very haunting movie. Loved how they did it based around the landscape.
It what I like about the Return too.. So many scenes with barely a word and atmosphere created in scenery amazing.
