They would be cray not to bid , But this is Norf
they need a trophy of sorts and claiming pick #1 is their only marketing hand
I think North wont bid as it takes away from what the number 1 player gets in benefits. I think if we were in the same position we would do the same & give benefits to the player we are going to pick up. Hopefully GWS or Gold Coast bid to make sure Collingwood & Bulldogs pay up for the kids they are picking up.

1. North -JHF
2.Bulldogs - Darcy
3.Pies - Daicos
4. GWS - Callaghan / Gibcus
5. Gold Coast - Gibcus / Callaghan
6. Adelaide - Hobbs
7. Hawthorn - Ward
8. Fremantle - Johnson
9. Richmond - Goater
10.Fremantle - Amiss
11. St Kilda - Andrew
12 .Eagles - Erasmus
13. Essen - Rachelle
14. Port -NWM
15. GWS - Butler
16. Brisbane - Sonsie
17. Richmond - JVR

26. Rich - Taylor
27. Rich - McDonald
28. Rich - Bazzo
Not gonna lie that would be pretty disappointing

If thats the case we gotta go for GWS or GC's pick in the trade

Noth have more $$$ than they can wipe the ass with and can easily pay the kid the extra $20k he would get
But moving their picks 42 & 47 up 5 spots nd giving them more ability to trade these picks for a better return has more value

I would be disappointed if Richmond didnt bid in this situation

why? How does RFC gain? Why meet the anticipation of other clubs so they can plan beforehand?

North's picks will be moving up regardless of whether they bid or not provided the bids come in early enough which( pick 4 for the Bulldogs in terms of 47) they will at some point

Do you not understand yin and yang and there are two sides to a coin?

If RFC does not bid at 7 pick 46 and 48 start to become more relevant and later 40 for Collingwood. Is that a win or loss for RFC? It make come down to ratings on draftees available and perceptions of club windows. The Bulldogs 23 will still be chewed as will 43 so its more about 44 and 45 that will come forward on Pies being used before. Richmond are probably more likely to bid on Darcy than Daicos because the Pies are in rebuild anyway and it brings 26, 27, 28 forward one by forcing Bulldogs to pay up

Totally agree I’d be disappointed if we took goater with our first pick.
Kid can play but isn’t what we are screaming out for most.
We need inside kids and key positions and I believe goater is more an outside winger type.
Be happy to get him later if he’s still available but hoping we can get Hobbs/ward with our first

what would it take to get GWS pick 2 (Callaghan)

Out: 15,26,28
In: 2

2,7,27

Callaghan, Amiss, Zac Taylor ( or any of the late 20's kids)
Why would GWS do that?

Pass up pick 2 for 15 then risk 26+28 being absorbed by a Fahey bid?

Very rose tinted glasses here.

The only way GWS would contemplate giving up pick 2 will be for 7 + 15.

Taylor and Bazzo would be excellent gets in the 20s. JvR has his supporters at 17 that would be ok. Goater I wouldnt take at 9 nor Campbell.
Haven't seen a lot but Goater looks very exciting. 190cm very quick and clever mids don't fall of trees. Far more impressive and potential that some of the other pics touted so far at 9.

Have heard in a few different places that were very interested in bidding for GWS academy prospect Josh Fahey. Also side note, Fahey is close mate of GWS Tom Green.

I wouldn’t be surprised with pick 15 we placed a bid on him. Not certain if GWS have the points or ability to match at that pick? Do they need more picks for points? GWS have apparently been incredibly high on Fahey and stashed him away into their academy.

An absolute laser left foot, and was best on ground in the academy under 18 game VS Geelong Vfl.
Similar to Jayden Short in many ways but usage off half back is a huge weapon and adding this kid in replacement of an iffy Rioli and a inconsistent Stack would be a nice prospect.

As I understand it, NGA players can only be matched if the bid comes past pick 20.

So if Fahey is taken within the top 20, he’ll be at that club. Similar with Mac Andrews (who is tied to the Demons Academy).

This is correct we would have to take him at 15. Yes i have heard similar with our interest. Perhaps we tell the Giants take 7 & 15 for 2 or else watch us take him at 15.

The thing with Goater is you could play him in a number of positions. Midfield, wing, back and possibly forward. Is iffy on the kick but that may improve over time

The point is you could fit him around a team somewhere and the team is still cohesive. Keeping in mind plenty of options down the track for more select positions where acute strength is attempted to be identified at some point

7 and F1 would be our best chance.

Northern Academies are exempt

We don't need to do anything

We have a draft hand every other club would dream about

Sit tight, wait till draft night, and if someone offers us overs we do it, otherwise we don't need to do anything other than wait for our turn and pick the best players we can at our picks
This is BF. Stop making sense !
