He already went in for surgery at the start of the year..

obviously didnt work.. so they have now sent him in a second time.

probably wont see him until halfway through next year. Could be a blessing in disguise… we wont be seeing mcrouch added to the sloane/keays/laird mix of “go to” main mids…

It looks like Hobbs will get more opportunities. ;)
Meanwhile, Crouch is turning into Talia.

Surely our medicos don't do the surgery....don't they just send him to a specialist who tells them what they play is?

If Matt's gone to a new one, I assume this is the one Burgess uses.

Surgery could have been successful. You can screw up successful surgery through poor rehab management.

Which would be a concern given Burgos right hand man is in charge of rehab and has been all year

Some players (people in general) don't work hard enough at rehab.

Sure the club set him a program, and can oversee him when at the club.

But at home.....

May not be the case here.

Could be he overdid it or kept pushing through despite pain that should have seen him ease up and reassess. Talia said his surgery was a success but it kept blowing up and they couldn't work out why. His solution was to keep going and hope that it stops blowing up. I wonder if Crouch pushed himself too hard to get back and ignored warning signs along the way.

You'd hope that's it because it's in theory the easiest to fix

What if it was mcrouch saying he’s 100% right to go and pushed it too much earlier than he should knowing it was an OOC year for him…

I'm guessing Matt thought he could nurse his way through the pre-season, then slide into round 1.

Then he probably found out that Burgess doesn't believe in players skipping sessions and will probably push him to breaking point.

Suddenly doing it properly and getting surgery looked like a good idea.

OR ...Burgess has looked at Crouch's records and history, and dictated an early surgical approach .....to have him back as quick as possible into the PS

In the past we may have taken a more conservative approach & lost a whole PS preparation ....and it still not being corrected

I reckon with Burgess, he will play round 1.

And be top 3 in our BnF.

I think its because he knows what he's going to do with it before he even gets it. Plus he can jag a goal.

I met his girlfriend and he is super competitive, doesn't like to lose.
He better keep earning the big paycheques dating Pickards daughter.

Can we actually ascertain what Burgo is qualified for and employed to do ?
Seems it varies from a wizard of infinity fitness to a surgical mastermind..
I'm stoked to have the guy but think a little to much fluff is being added.

There is definitely a bit of messiah complex going on with him.

If you listen to him talk he explains his role as largely about making players as resilient as possible and maximising their physical attributes so they can utilise their strengths for as long as possible.

I think some people have it in their heads that he has some secret recipe in his head that’s going to magically make us better, in reality he’s just really, really good at his job, and is simply another piece of the puzzle.
