The entire GOP platform consists solely of 'owning the libs' these days
Funny how if the Dems or Labor or someone to the left of the GOP offered a 5k taxpayer funded carrot for a public service job, the right would be screaming all sorts of socialism, communism and marxism.
So when a GOP governor offers the cash, he obviously gets labelled as a hero and the second coming of the Orange God.
Wowee cake

YepThe entire GOP platform consists solely of 'owning the libs' these days
Trump spawning Trump Jr has been selling shirts for $27 with "Guns dont kill people, Elec Baldwin does" including a pretty badly photoshopped picture of him on the shirt.
Classy conservative move, of course.

Are you sure about that? Its been their platform for a while now. Its why the current Infrastructure budget the Democrats are trying to pass keeps getting stalled by the Republicans. Because they can then sit back and declare the Democrats dont get anything done, because they try to find a middle ground and the Republicans use that mindset as ammunition against them.
Are you sure about that?
How are the Republicans stalling it?
The infrastructure bill passed the Senate already with 19 Republicans voting for it.
Mitch McConnell said: "I was proud to support today’s historic bipartisan infrastructure deal and prove that both sides of the political aisle can still come together around common-sense solutions."
That's stalling?
The delay in the House is because progressive Democrats don't want to vote on it until they see the more expansive social policy bill, which is still being negotiated due to the objections of two centrist Democratic senators, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.
The Democrats need unity to pass these bills and they currently don't have it. How do you blame that on the Republicans?
Bear in mind, it'd still fall under the category of 'Hypocrisy of the Right', because by no metric are the Democrats left wing. Are we ignoring the part where the objecting Democrats were objecting BECAUSE the core Democrats were trying to appease the Republicans who publicly declared they wouldnt support anything in the area of 3.5 Trillion? Did you miss the sh*t Old Turtle was spouting?
Brother this just PROVES there is a war on Christmas.
What specifically are you talking about? Are we ignoring the part where the objecting Democrats were objecting BECAUSE the core Democrats were trying to appease the Republicans who publicly declared they wouldnt support anything in the area of 3.5 Trillion? Did you miss the sh*t Old Turtle was spouting?
Surely that depends which Democrats we're talking about.Bear in mind, it'd still fall under the category of 'Hypocrisy of the Right', because by no metric are the Democrats left wing.
What specifically are you talking about?
Are you talking about the infrastructure bill or the more expansive social policy bill?
The infrastructure bill had bipartisan support in the Senate and is being held up by progressive Democrats in the House. They could vote on it whenever they like and pass it without Republican support. So when you say Republicans are "stalling" it, what do you mean?
Republicans aren't obligated to vote for Biden's agenda. Democrats could pass both bills without Republican support if they were unified. But they aren't. That's not the fault of the Republicans.
So the reality is that it's not Republicans "stalling", as you claimed. The obstacle is that Democrats aren't unified. They need everyone on board to pass the social policy bill and they've got a couple of holdouts in Manchin and Sinema. They're not trying to "appease Republicans". They're holding out because of their own political concerns.
That, in turn, has made progressive Democrats in the House unwilling to vote on the infrastructure bill until they see both bills, effectively using the infrastructure bill as leverage to make sure the social policy bill doesn't doesn't get watered down.
It's really not a case of Republicans "stalling". The Democrats could pass both bills if they were all on the same page. It's two Democratic senators, Manchin and Sinema, gumming up the works.
Yes, they need 50 votes to pass the social policy bill through reconciliation. The two holdouts are the issue because if they just went ahead with 48 of 50 the Republicans will fillibuster the whole thing, as per their usual tactic when they want things stalled. They are sitting back enjoying this, watching the original 3.5 Trillion over 10 years get carved and carved down to what is now 1 Trillion and missing some pretty key promises the Democrats had pre-election. They know if they went ahead now it'll never get through, the only way it can is with 50/50 through the reconciliation process.
I didn't say it was "easy". I said the Democrats could pass both bills without Republican support if they were all on the same page.If it was as easy as you claim it to be to get through they'd have done it already, the two hold outs either have their own agendas in this or are less moderate and more center right.
Yeah, I know who Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are, thanks. From most articles about this they are described as:
they are both self-described moderates who have stressed their preference to pass bipartisan bills.
They want something that both sides are happy with and that clearly isnt going to happen because anything the Republicans agree with goes against their party tag line of: Everything the Liberals want is BAD.
I really couldn't give nine tenths of a * what an individual democrat thinks. What is important - as you correctly pointed out - is what they do as a collective, as government.Surely that depends which Democrats we're talking about.
At the moment, it's two senators raining on the parade. Joe Manchin definitely isn't LW and has never really claimed to be LW. Kyrsten Sinema used to be decidedly LW but has morphed into a weird mishmash of positions.
Those two aside, it's the progressive caucus in the House that's holding up the infrastructure bill, trying to ensure that the social policy bill doesn't get stripped back too far. Surely that denotes some LW conviction?
The social policy bill is quite ambitious. They're just hamstrung by not having a real majority.I really couldn't give nine tenths of a fu** what an individual democrat thinks. What is important - as you correctly pointed out - is what they do as a collective, as government.
And as a government, the Democrats are not left wing.
Systematic deconstruction of Lauren Southern here.
For a political movement so opposed to identity politics, you'd wonder why more and more are gravitating to the neo-nazi great replacement theory. It's no longer weapon horders. Its crossover and is being embraced by mainsgtream conservative media outlets. carlson is pushing it on Fox. Southern is on Sky now.
Thanks but why doesn’t he just get to the point? Who has an hour spare to bring them up to speed on this stuff? Not me.
