Upwards as in manager, director of football, board etc.

Yeah I know that's what you meant, I was questioning it because it's downwards, i.e. the players and manager.

I mean you're technically not wrong that a Turkish consortium plans to have a Turkish board made up of, well, the Turkish consortium. :tearsofjoy:

Do you mean as in dead man walking I assume?

We're in a period of due diligence so I believe it's legally impossible to actually sack him, but ever since the takeover commenced he was essentially gone, now he actually is, and I suspect he knows it.

Wasn’t there talk of FA buying an English club and having exclusive Australian players play for it?

was a couple of years ago from memory.

Football Federeration of Australia I assume.

I've never heard of a Football Federation buying a club, don't even think they'd be allowed.

He might be thinking of the story of an Aussie who wanted to buy a club to put Aussies through, I think Swindon has an Aussie owner?

Yeah I agree, would have been an poor waste of money and resources by the FFA at any rate.

There was actually talk about Frank Lowy buying Leeds United about 10 or so years ago lol

Wouldn't have shocked me but he would have done so independently presumably.

I remember reading about it in a sports gossip column on the Murdoch tabloids a couple of years ago.

Can’t find it anywhere now though.

Mitro can’t stop scoring and neither can the rest of the boys. Hopefully we can keep this up as that Bournemouth game in a month looks very enticing.

Yeah its the best Fulham have looked in the 2nd tier in a long time even the 2 years they got promotion they weren't as dominant as this current squad.

Still a long way to go things looking promising they dont have to go through the play-offs and finish top 2. West brom is the only threat at this stage

Bournemouth will finish as champions you would think.

I am actually hoping Coventry go up, came close to ceasing to exist 5 years or so ago, and have been out of the top flight for ages

Yeah swindon now have an aussie owner Clem Morfuni.

My brother who is a plumber used to work for him for his company Axis Plumbing here in Sydney.

Clem has quite a story really from starting as an apprentice to building his own business empire in Axis plumbing that has offices all around the world Australia, New Zealand, UK, and USA.

My brother before he started his own business as a sole trader was thinking about going over to the UK working over there for Axis.

My brothers reckons the Christmas parties when he was there were the best ever at the star casino in Sydney open bar tab all night. Shots and spirits included

The other positive is Silva is a PL quality manager. Struggled at Everton but was very impressive for stretches at Hull and Watford. So decent chance of keeping you up in that sense.

Wasn’t Coventry a club that had terrible owners which really rattled the club right down to L2.
They even played a season or two at Birmingham which is madness considering the facility they have in their own city.

Coventry won promotion from League Two in 2017/18 via the playoffs and won League One in 2019/20.
Before that they were in a slow decline, being relegated from the EPL in 2000/01, the Championship in 2011/12 and League One in 2016/17.
