Ellis & Lennon were bad selections and pre Matty ClarkeEllis, Lennon, Higgins, RCD, Dow, I have some hope for the last two but doing what your advocating this is the sum of 6 first round picks. Hasn’t exactly set us up for the future.
I’d trade them all for a decent midfielder. So I see no reason not to trade any two first round picks to get a player we want. Picks are over rated.

I’ve watched all RCDs games and for all the stats that have been presented only once did I think he had a positive impact in a game. You know as well as I do that stats can just blur the actual truth. Don’t pull out the bullshite ‘did he run over the dog etc’.
Did he hold his position in the team? No he didn’t! So the match committee sent RCD back to the Reserves because he wasn’t up to the standard. He has this year to cement himself in the side. Will you still be defending him at years end if we’ve see little improvement in his performances?

Higgins will be a 250 game player and proven he is AFL quality
RCD / Dow its way too early to tell specially covid years

Rance #18
Vlastuin #9
Bolton #29
Balta #25

Disagree with your reasoning. The current recruiting team haven't had extremely early picks to judge them on. You are also saying that pick 25 or so is late in the draft. It isn't. It is an early to mid second rounder. We have 3 picks in a row at the moment just after that. I wouldn't call them late too. Three in a row really will let them pick up both solid players and reserve one for a player with real X factor. This is the draft that we will really see how good our relatively new recruiting team is. They have had limited viewing of the Vic boys too. They will have to use their imagination to see who they see will be a player in the future.Rance and Riewoldt? That was nearly 15 years ago!
Bolton and Balta weren’t first round picks and prove that we can find talent later in the draft but can’t seem to find it in the first round. Even more reason to trade our first rounders to get up the board, as we will find a player or two later on.
I don’t rate Higgins, and am not sorry he left, just somewhat regret that we didn’t bargain harder.

I'm not sure you know who Tyler Sonsie is.Not dissimilar to Corey Ellis for sure.
The response was to our current talent identification and being able to select the required talent with our current picksRance and Riewoldt? That was nearly 15 years ago!

With news that Lambert has taken him under his wing to get his tank and work rate up to AFL midfield standard I’ll be the first to call his piss weak heart out if he doesn’t make it

I love that meme so clever
I'm not the one calling him slow, mate. Do you also think he can't kick left foot?Im not too sure u do either
Luke Jackson wasn't a risk at all. He was drafted at 94kg and is now around the 100kg mark so was about as ready to go as big blokes get. The only knock was whether he was going to be able to play significant time in the ruck first up, but his forward craft was good enough.I’ve come around to selecting Mac Andrew IF Hobbs, Gibcus, Callaghan and Ward are all gone. I believe we can get similar types at 15 and late 20’s beyond those guys, but we aren’t getting a Mac Andrew opportunity then. We can get a ready made mid or two at our 2-5th picks.
I know he’s a slight risk and will take time, but they said the same about Luke Jackson who is already a star and looks like an inspired choice at pick-3.
If Mac Andrew develops as you’d hope he can help transform your entire team’s fortunes. I just don’t feel Rachele, Sinn, Erasmus provide the enormous upside that Andrew does. Mac Andrew looks like he will be an A-grade version of Chol and CCJ.
And 1-2 years of VFL development is perfect given the age profile of Nank and Soldo.

Been reported that he's 80kg now. If he's the standout talent at our selection I hope we take him.Luke Jackson wasn't a risk at all. Andrew is 70kg. He isn't a 1-2 year development prospect. He's a 3-5 year prospect and he doesn't have the forward craft to be a senior selection in the next 2 years (where we are supposed to be contending). He also doesn't help us address our midfield clearance issues in the short term.
Nankervis is 27 and Soldo is 25. I do not see how having another ruck arrive in 2-3 years helps us in the slightest.
