Sheahan & Twomey's latest phantom:

Pick 1- JHF
Pick 2 - Daicos
Pick 3 - Darcy
Pick 4 - Gibcus
Pick 5 - Callaghan
Pick 6 - Rachele
Pick 7 - Ward
Pick 8 - Hobbs
Pick 9 - Erasmus
Pick 10 - Amiss
Pick 11 - Andrew
Pick 12 - Wanganeen-Milera
Pick 13 - Johnson
Pick 14 - Sinn
Pick 15 - Goater
Pick 16 - Wilmot
Pick 17 - JVR
Pick 18 - Fahey
Pick 19 - Brown
Pick 20 - Howes
Pick 21 - Chesser
Should point out that they specifically said they did this based on what they think clubs need, but Twomey said it's not based on anything to do with what he knows and thinks clubs will do based on what has been/is being indicated.

So this was literally just them having a bit of fun with what they think clubs need.

I hope it's not Erasmus, I dunno why but I get Will Martyn vibes, kinda slow. Also doesn't look like he can even kick 50 metres...
Seriously, have you seen him play live? Have you seen him play multiple games? Come on mate. None of us really know that much about a lot of the players this year. I wouldn't get too critical of the club, whoever they end up picking up. They have a lot more vision than us and their scouts will have a far better idea of this current crop than anyone on this board.

What's you latest mail Grockadoc regarding the draft you get some accurate mail thanks mate.

Things have chopped and changed so much. There's been a lot of talk about depth areas that need to be addressed and where our best 22 could be upgraded.

A KPP is on the cards with one of our firsts.

Our preference is Gibcus at 9, but if he is gone, Amiss a chance. JVR at 17 likely if we go for a small with our first. (Rachele, Hobbs are the 2 most I am hearing outside of Gibcus and Amiss although Johnson, Sinn and Wanganeen-Milera have also been raised as possible options.)

17 is looking like JVR.

For our second rounders, Bazzo, Judson Clarke and Blake Howes have been mentioned. Ned Long a possible a shot here if we don't take all our picks as we still like him and rate him highly.

Do you think we will take JVR even if we have taken Gibcus at 9?

I do think Adelaide are a chance of snaping him up if they don't trade their pick, especially with Talia gone. Butts, McAsey and Murray are their main 3.

Hawthorn could look at him as a future partner with DGB given McEvoy and Hartigan are getting on.

Freo likely to take Erasmus.

So the chances of Gibcus being there at 9 is pretty likely at this stage. If we could get both Gibcus AND Amiss/Van Rooyen with our first 2 picks, I'd call that a win. Otherwise give me Gibcus and Rachele.

If we don't take Gibcus at 9, I highly expect Freo or St Kilda to snap him up at one of the next 2 picks after ours.

That would be underwhelming if we picked up 2 key position players with our first 2 rounders. if it was one of Hobbs/Johnson/Erasmus and say Van Rooyen with our 2nd first rounder fine. If both Gibcus and Hobbs landed at our pick 9, my preference is Hobbs but if the club called out Gibcus I wouldn't be disappointed as he and Balta would be our main key backs over the next decade. The second 1st rounder must be a mid.

That is true but if they are kind of slow they are kind of slow. I myself have a need for speed, love how a player like Goater parts the pack with his speed off the mark. Can he play, as you say our scouts know far more than any of us on here, but you can judge a player somewhat by highlights.

I am not a Ward and Hobbs fan for the reason they are not quick, but they may turn out to be guns, ours scouts again. I don't necessarily follow those draft experts either who have followed many of these kids since they were 15/16. A lot can change in 2 years. I think our recruiting dept don't necessarily follow the mock drafts much either.

You would get a long term partner for balta and a jack replacement.

You can get mids with picks 3-5 and hope rcd. Ross. Stack 3tc. Pull the finger out

No issue on the first if the club went (Gibcus) but I would on the 2nd if it was a tall. We have Samson Ryan waiting in the wings, can play key forward and Ruck. He's mobile, a pretty good mark and plays aggressive, I rate him. Next years draft is full of talls, we can target a few more then.

What's your gut feel? Do you think the club will go 2 talls? I reckon they'll go either 2 mids or 1 tall/1 mid with its 2 first rounders..

I’ve been Hobbs all along. But would be wrapt with Gibcus. Elite athletic traits and having him and Balta back there for the next decade would be exciting. If Miller comes in as hoped, Balta could even go forward and be that missing piece up there post Riewoldt

Yep I want one of these two at 7(9)

Next year's draft looks like it has 7-8 high quality talls, but it's likely that we'll only be able to grab 1 (maybe 2) of them with our 1st and Norf's 2nd rounder. Assuming we bounce back next year, we'll only get what's left of them at the end of the 1st/start of 2nd round as well. Add on the fact that KPP take longer to develop and we need to replace Grimes, Tarrant, Jack & Lynch, then if Gibcus, Andrew &/or JVR are the best available @ 9 and 19 then just take them.

I'm hearing there's more tall talent on offer in next years draft. As this year is full of mids. Even this year there are talented talls in the top 20, Darcy, Gibcus, Andrew, Amiss, Rooyen.
How many picks at a guess you reckon we'll have next year, I say 3-4 max.
We have Miller, Biggy and Ryan. And likely will add 1-2 tall's from this draft. With our 3 second rounders, we could go one of Alleer, Williams, Bazzo

Forgot Miller but Biggie was delisted. Bot sure if we have committed to re-rookieing him.

RICHMOND has delisted Derek Eggmolesse-Smith, Ryan Garthwaite, Noah Cumberland and Bigoa Nyuon.

However, the yet-to-debut pair of Cumberland and Nyuon will be re-rookied by the Tigers in November 26's NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

Defender Garthwaite was taken at pick No.72 in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft and the 192cm defender played five of his 14 career games last season.
