Let’s stick with a basic rule for this thread, that it’s for draft watch and discussion only.

It’s not for trade hypotheticals, who you think needs to be delisted or traded, how many games you think we will win, some other team will win, how many picks you want in the 1st round or discussion of current HFC players.

It’s about youngsters who are eligible for the draft in 2021.

Key dates to look out for:
  • NAB AFL Draft Combine: TBC
  • NAB AFL Draft: Wednesday November 24 - Thursday November 25
  • NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts: Friday November 26

I am pretty sure they screwed up and didn't sign him up. Similar to Jahmal Stretch who is another exciting forward option.
If he is still there at pick 59 (or wherever) I'd be happy.

Hi All,
The AFL uses information for monetisation by selling it to news outlets instead of giving it to us avid draft watchers. So be it... but we have a recourse: group information

I have been trying to find combine results and general information for our possible draftees and have come up with the following table.

It is a long way from complete. If you can add to it please tell me and I’ll update the table. new players accepted. Every idea accepted.

There are many spaces in this table. Please help.

Great idea. Neil Erasmus someone posted that he ran a 6:14 2km on Strava. Can we put in brackets the 2020 results also

Yes of course… I’ll add it…. many of these results are with an asterisk. Were some running in the rain with high wind in their time trial while others ran in perfect conditions. I do not know. Did Cyril Rioli intentionally stuff up his agility test… almost certainly.

All info is wanted and bad results taken with a grain of salt … What is clear is that If a draftee ran really fast or jumped really high… then that is a definite trait.

I had a feeling we would be connected to Blake Howes. Seemed a very hawks type pick.

just looked at the video. Nice gunner or TOB replacement as an all rounder. I like the fan appeal Mac Andrew would have, but only if club judged him best available.

jeez the hawks are going to look so youf at times next season

Interesting that he rates Goater so much higher than Knivett.
Sonsie and Sinn rated before our second and third picks.

Some players hardly talked about in the range of 15-25.
It's a pretty good draft IMO.
Not much elite talent, but good depth if you're looking for attacking mids.
Knivett‘s marking is great. Effort… Great… But his kicking action is, IMO, not-fixable
Huge pass from me.

Not really. Ward, Hobbs and Erasmus look much more promising, even Sinn. We will be picking best available midfielder at that pick, which Johnson is probly not at pick 6.

Cal is saying Erasmus is likely to last until eagles pick 10. Johnson has alot of attributes we look for , I wouldn't be dissapointed if we took him .

Cal suggests Crows looking at Sinn at 4. 😒

Not surprised, Crows have history of making surprise selection from left field which have paid off. DOEDEE was a massive reach with their first pick which shocked everyone at the time but has since proven to be a master stroke

Sinn is still my preferred first selection but really coming around to Johnston the more I read about him If Crows do take Sinn I wouldn't be against us splitting our first pick for two later first round picks which could net a Johnston/Sonsie, Johnson/Chesser

They've made far more surprise selections that haven't paid off recently. That said, Sinn at 4 would be a much better decision for them than McAsey at 6 ever was.

Interested to see us linked to Johnson strongly, as well as Ward. Really hoping we have something up our sleeves to land both somehow, especially as both seem like safe long-term players who have a similar style to what we've typically liked, as well as those more attacking qualities Mitchell seems to be after.
Seems like we'll end up with one or two of Callaghan, Ward, Johnson or Andrew and that's really exciting I feel.

So I take it you like Sinn at 5?

Its only an opinion, but the way I am reading this is that Hawthorm will make another play for Callaghan. I also think Hawthorn will attempt to land multiple picks in the first round depending on the Callaghan bid. Based on how we have recruited recently, Rachelle, Johnson, Sinn all make sense to me (super athletic with elite disposal).

We should have a very good option at our first. Just hope we don’t go safe on a ward pick. But with Finn a certainty to be gone, if the two talls go (gibcus/Andrew) then we have pick of the mids. Or one or both of talls slips through who may be too good not to pick up in same way we got DGB. Given we bid on Campbell before taking DGB picking someone like Sinn would not surprise me one bit.

Our 2nd round we really need to hope on some sliders. But could get lucky and say both Chesser and Draper available who would really suit us well. Both are pretty flexible and can play range of role but also have midfield potential (ie can hold a flank/wing on merit but also add to midfield rotations).
