AFL run the NAB League and pathways in Vic, they are very much in control of a lot of what happens and how they disperse funding etc. This is very much an AFL issue. Make no mistake the AFL is big with the push in this direction.
How many recruiters etc are needed if kids are coming from everywhere? Lot less needed if the top end talent are filtered through a handful of schools and one schools comp. It's much more convenient.

Disagree, lower interchanges means more athletes to enable 2-way running. Coaches will also set up more defensively to ensure they aren't exposed defensively and tired players have worse skills so play breaks down more often when players are unable to consistently execute their skills.
The best tired football players come to the for.
The best tired athlete players get shown up.

With lower interchanges you need better kickers. Better kickers more one on one.
The game does need to be slowed down. When players get tired, the players with more ability have that half a second more time to execute which makes them impact the game more.
Lower interchange = need more players with football skills = less impact injuries'
Higher interchange = need more athletes = more impact injuries.

Is AFL an athletics program or a game of football.

Agreed. Been saying that for years

Can only assume this is a gee up

Nice article by Paul Kennedy, ABC about the history and success of father-son, father-daughter rules.

St Scum will never be . Deewayne Russell is carrying on about what that rodent JB did

St Kilda actually have a fair bit of equity I believe.

If they sell their assets they can be debt free, but are deciding to hold them with the view of a better long term future. Moorabbin move helps with this as well.

Thanks for that, it really shows how making players more fatigued increases their mistakes.

I think in a sport like the NRL increasing fatigue can lead to higher scoring because you only need one fresh fast player to beat one fatigued slower player to score a try. This doesnt work in the AFL because unless you get a forward 50 turnover you need multiple players all executing their skills at once and in succession to score, a single miss kick or poor handball will see the play break down.

Perhaps Kirk girls, Tallulah and Memphys, will be our first father-daughter selection

A bit of an ego on the Daicos boy already. Can be good to be confident but can stunt his development if it gets in the way of his work ethic
A solid self-belief is necessary to produce one's best in any sport but getting miffed because a club won't waste time on you because you already have a 4 year contract is beyond ridiculous. More like a 14 year old than a young man. Perfect for the Pies.

“I guess the lower I’m picked, the better it is for the club so that’s where my head is at.”

Daicos says after bemoaning only potentially being a top 2-4 player.

At the end of the day though it's hardly his fault. He's a product of a system that's becoming increasingly prone to over-hyping the draft. He's got professional AFL photographers doing shoots purely for him, 40,000 followers on Instagram, a Swysh account where he's paid $70 to give fan shout-outs. All before he's even been drafted.
