Consecutive Wooden Spoons"Winning" the spoon 2 years in a row doesn't really happen often.
It's out of Collingwood/Gold Coast/Hawthorn in that order.

Don't think either Saints or Dockers should be in this conversation.Toss up between Pies and North.
Wait. Why is Freo there?
Well I think freo finish above the Eagles.Asks about Freo, you explain Eagles.
Top shelf.

There's no clear favourite this year.
Are the Crows tipped to improve again in 2022?
We don't like the spotlight of a wooden spoon. We prefer to be bad silently. Apart from winning in 2001 we were only in real contention in 1999. In 2016 we didn't even finish second last which was probably the real spoon (but I'll give you, that you could count that year as well). No poll on the spoon is complete without freo being included. Its a well established tradition.
What poor soul is going to have $100 stolen just so your port mate can pay out the bet?Got a $100 bet with a Port nuff that Crows won't finish bottom - even if Crows finish 17th they still pay up
If it’s somehow us we’ll definelty be getting the priority pick this time

LolIt's actually never happened at the Blues.
Edit - happened once in over a century, not sure that can be deemed as occurring often.
There were enough positive signs from the second half of the season to suggest we will be more than competitive in most matches next season. I think eight wins is a real possibility depending on the draw.If it’s somehow us we’ll definelty be getting the priority pick this time
I agree that we should be on the improve but if worst case scenario we don’t then there’s at least that PPThere were enough positive signs from the second half of the season to suggest we will be more than competitive in most matches next season. My pick for the spoon is Hawthorn, their list looks a little disjointed and light on depth. Also, they kicked out the master coach and replaced him with a rookie and I'm not sure he can provide the spark to lift the team when in a winnable position.
The Hawks like Adelaide and North in early days of a rebuild and Collingwood and Gold Coast for different reasons will be in the mix.Going to be a lot of disappointed people next year when Hawthorn are no where near 18th.
Only way we are contending for the spoon are if two of the following things occur.
1. Half our best 22 get season ending injuries (happy to admit that we don't have the depth to cover it).
2. Mitchell coaches like the second coming of Mark Neeled and his appointment becomes a clear mistake early on.
We won 7 games (finished on 32 points, so essentially 8 wins) in 2021, lost nobody of note in trade period and gain James Sicily and Jack Gunston after 12 months off each.
The expectation is 8 wins at an absolute minimum.
Collingwood and Adelaide are my two major contenders. Crows are on the right path but I think it will be a slow burn of a rebuild.
Tradition- doesn't work for me, mind you. Like the Saints in this poll, Dockers feel to me in that middle grouping of 7-12 .Both have solid lists and solid coaching and a have a few years of development ahead of the other sides mentioned.Tradition
Saints were the big disappointment of 2021 for me. I can see 2022 either having it all come together and they do deep or it all explodes spectacularly and they bomb out.Tradition- doesn't work for me, mind you. Yeah , the Saints are probably one of the harder sides to place 1-18. Having said that , for me the middle ground seems most likely. I'm waiting on the fixture to come out but suspect I might place them 8. Blues and Bombers I also see in that middle grouping of sides with the Dockers . My reasoning for those 4 sides being in that middle grouping, is their not good enough to legitimately contend, but they are too good to be in wooden spoon calculations.Saints were the big disappointment of 2021 for me.
