How much modelling did they do on the tens of millions they've poured down the drain at fold coast? Give Tasmania a team you slimy weasel gillon

They are going to get a team, it's just a matter of putting together a case compelling enough to get the club presidents to vote against their own interests for the betterment of the game.

Short version - lets leave it at least another year before saying outright no, so Hawks / North still get big fat sponsorship deals from Tasmanian government organisations and can still play there. Thanks Gil!

It's not against non-Victorian clubs interests. Our (all non-Vic clubs) biggest impediment by the light of a thousand supernovas is more Vic clubs then not. Sure we'll probably lose a player or two in the short term, but if we can manage to avoid bottoming out as they get to pick the draft apart it won't be too bad. Long term if we get 19 teams and a bye, pressure to remove that and get to 18 teams again should fall on the likes of St. Kilda (as the Vic club with biggest debt and no immediate prospects of success). Majority non-Vic clubs is the main aim, but getting to 18 teams with it 9-9 is a big step on the way. Once we're even the boys club Vic love in starts becoming easier to dismantle.

There will never be less than 10 Victorian teams. All we're doing is reducing our statistical premiership chances from 1 in 18 to 1 in 19 and further diminishing the scraps leftover for us at the bottom of the sponsorship pool.

If we're relying on statistical probability to win flags then we're halfway to being St Kilda already

There will be at some point. Even if it has to be after getting to 20 or 21 teams overall. Though I'd argue a 20 team competition with 10 Non-Vic sides and 10 Vic sides is going to have more pluses for Port then minuses, just by the Vics not having the majority to setup everything to advantage them, with the Non-Vic clubs having no recourse, due to less numbers.

tex looks terrible in that footage
He looks like a guy past 30 realising he's unfit and starts taking up jogging. Hopefully Adelaide starts with a few losses so they rush him back in and stunt the progression of their youth again.
