So seven picks before our first one tomorrow night. That means we get three of the best ten players left.
Who's left that we'd want? Johnson? Sonsie? Goater? etc..
Would we even pick him? His tank is really poor and his disposal is iffy.Any chance Goater makes it to our pick?
Draper, Sonsie and Knevitt I'd like.
Fahey and Owens will be before our picks too.
#21 - Freo - Matthew Johnson
#22 - Norf - Jesse Motlop
#23 - Hawks - Tyler Sonsie
#24 - Geelong - Mitch Knevitt
#25 - Geelong - Toby Conway
#26 - Saints - Mitch Owens
#27 - GWS - Josh Fahey
#28 - Hawks - Blake Howes
#29 - Carlton - Connor Macdonald
#30 - Richmond - Arlo Draper
#31 - Richmond - Josh Goater
#32 - Richmond - Zac Taylor
Bazzo is a key backmanBazzo would be interesting - developing big fwd

Tom Brown is 6"1" not really a key defender.Just realised that the age is covering picks as they happen, afl website is still on pick 10. Ffs.
Picking 2 key defenders is odd, given our dearth up forward and having a few developing down back.
IMO we are paper thin for depth down back as wellJust realised that the age is covering picks as they happen, afl website is still on pick 10. Ffs.

Lock it in boys we'll draft two small forwards and a flanker tomorrrow night. More players we don't need.
When was the last time Richmond drafted pure ball winning midfielders high in the draft around the pick they were tipped to drop?
Outside Dusty and Cotchin NO ONE.
FFS.
Firstly, pretty hard to draft the next Cotchin or Dusty when you don’t have pick 2 or 3 in the draft; and the last top 10 selection the club had was 9 years ago.
Second, RCD was picked by the club as a midfielder at around the pick he was supposed to drop. In fact:
2016 - Pick 29 - Shai Bolton; has transitioned to some midfield time.
2017 - pick 17 - Jack Higgins; was thought to ultimately transition to midfield (and still may). Tipped to go higher.
2018 - pick 20 - RCD; an inside midfielder. Tipped to go higher but around pick 20.
2019 - pick 21 - Dow; a midfielder.
So four of the last five first picks we’ve had have been a) quite late [earliest at 17] and b) have or were likely to have the ability to play midfield.
Third, you need talent first and foremost. Regardless of position. The ‘ball winning talent’ at pick 9 was Hobbs and Erasmus. Gibcus is a better prospect than both.
At 17, maybe Goater? I would have taken Matthew Johnson personally but he isn’t a ‘ball winner’, he’s a one-step-off the pack player.
So enlighten me, what would have done differently?
So will Windhager
did I read he had a serious back injury, hence expected to drop a long way?
You do realise that the next 10 players are mids yeah ?After not taking a mid yesterday and seeing whats left id rather we trade out of the draft now and swap our picks for picks next year giving us mire ammunition to trade in a Green etc.

id like to trade one of the next 3 picks out for next year too but cant see any takers, maybe GC ?
so we're backing in 2 of RCD,Dow or Ross to step up in 2022 ? hmmmm
Dow & Brown can be our staple wingmen for the next 8 -10 years
the next Wood & Walsh ?
Brown reminds me of a taller Jayden Short. Can break lines get forward and be damaging by foot. Maybe we have other plans for Shorty like a wing?
