It Is worth noting that our recruitment team are masters of disinformation. Apart from Chad 2, no one had a clue who we were into.

It’s always funny. It’s why I was glad they named some medium defender in the phantom lol

This. Also if we were a club who gave away our secrets, all of a sudden Sheldrick would’ve appeared on more phantom drafts and he would no longer have been a bolter.
It's become a bit of a joke with Cal Twomey and Kinnear, because Cal gets zip of him. If you listen in the most recent interview between them its really quiet funny.

Also, 2 years for all draftees is stupid, as has previously been mentioned.

NFL it's 4 years, with teams given a 5th year option for first rounders that they can choose to pick up or not. 5th year option comes with a decent pay bumo as well.

3 years with 4th yr option would be good.

what if they are no good ?

Any interest in your boy this year?
19 yo unfortunately not treated well this year despite the challenges of last year. He is lucky enough to be at the VFL next year.

Bloody covid came at a s**t time. Hopefully he'll get some exposure as a mature ager next season.

Especially when you can now, apparently, say out loud I am going home in 2 years.

That is draft tampering straight up and should be met with a 2 year ban from AFL footy. Play at home then in the BGrade comp.

Also any "SA" or "WA" of "NSW" or "QLD" kid saying I want to go home, and let's toss Vic in there as well, and then after pretending to be interested in any Club doesn't get to choose a club. Screw that sh*t.

Right what's this Kayo app thingo now I have that off my chest.
The issue with that is that they will say nothing prior to being drafted. We draft him in good faith and spend two years developing him. Then, after 2 years he says he wants to go home.
At least, if they say so up front, you don't waste the next two years.

Its probably where the 3 yr contract may make a difference, with the club having the option on a fourth. There does need to be protection for clubs who draft interstaters,....and having a 3 yr w an option over your for a 4th is a pretty handy start for a rookie player.

Gosh Mac Andrew is impressive. Just finished watching the vid from draft night, quality kid.
his development in the last 12 months is breathtaking

I don't care how decent the pay is, I can't imagine many of our players would be into that.
