There is some development path where in the next 5 years all of Treacy, Amiss and Sturt have come on and we have this hyper mobile and high IQ forwardline that is both incredible to watch and wreaks havoc each week. Ploz make it happen Freo
If we can keep Switta on the park that is some serious flash and dare in our fwd50. And we'll have Schultz ready to clean up any rebounding defenders to really spice things up!

This is my forward line with projected positions for incoming;

Lobb Taberner Schultz
Switkowski Treacy Sturt
+ Walters from the bench
Depth small forward options; Colyer, Henry, Western. None are specialists but I don't see alternative positions for them apart from Henry if he can take a wing. And with three small forwards already in that set up I would elect to bring in Erasmus instead.

Benning Amiss Schultz
Switkowski Treacy Sturt

Watching him yesterday I noticed some similarities in the way he moves to Aaron Naughton.
Not sure if it’s the running gait, his leap or what it is but I swear I was seeing a Naughton clone out there at times.
Like Naughton, the timing of his leap / ball flight judgement is very good, great news given it’s very hard to train this into a KPP.

If he can physically develop at the same rate we’ll be blessed with a mobile monster.

Good call, dont think he has hands quite as sticky as Naughtons but he can also kick for goal unlike Naughton, so that's a trade-off I'm happy to take

The last mark and goal he moved exactly like Naughton.

If he becomes as good as Naughton with an accurate kick than we are taking a 60 get all a year forward though - that would be huge.

Let's hope it pans out that way.

For me, he's like a taller version of Jack Gunston of which I'd be stoked with

I’ve liked his improved mobility this season (or perhaps it’s just improved fitness from full time training) & think he can easily play the mobile 3rd forward at some stage this season. A bit of comparison with Naughton here & I see that, but to me (& I haven’t seen the WP game) he has potential to be a Jack Gunston type & that’s more how he played throughout juniors.

edit, as I’m typing I see Docker79 has the same thought.

Loved his pace off the mark to get separation, his reading of the play/flight of the ball and of course his accuracy on the weekend was as advertised. Kid looks the goods.

Looks fantastic, if we let him develop in WAFL this year and have him kicking bags weekly he'll be primed for a debut next year. I don't want him in the Fremantle team unless we have a injury.

If he's kicking bags regularly I think you can justify giving him a debut should Tabs/Lobb miss out for whatever reason.

He looks bigger / stronger to Gunston to me, I think he's a perfect modern 2nd forward with his mobility. Jeremy Cameron light.

If he's kicking bags each week, seems silly to hold him out of the team. You could even play Lobb as main ruck and Amiss as 2nd tall instead of Meek playing.

Cant keep him out of the side if he's kicking 5 each week

Probably my one query about him being brought into the side this year was his endurance; I did note in the Peel game is that most of the time he was the deepest forward Peel had. He made many multiple sets of leads at pace which was good, but there was very little going up the ground (when he did he was effective though). Having said that I did not see the game before where he had more possessions, so maybe that showed off more endurance?

The pass to Sturt whilst perfect was also a little annoying; just kick the goal yourself Jye! There is a time and place! It reminded of those moments where Pav would be selfless and then we would lose out on a goal.

Apart from that, there is a lot to like from the game on the weekend and he got those goals with real ease despite the more experienced opponent; it is also so good to watch a forward playing for us that knows where to lead and can take easy marks. Of course at the next level he won't have as much space to work with but it is still probably going to enough to cause havok.

I know exact cm aren't everything and listed heights can be a bit suspect, but Amiss is listed at 196 - the same as Logan Macdonald. I like the Jeremy Cameron comparison although I reckon there's a shot Jye puts on more size than Cameron. I really hope he develops into a proper KPP, he's got a fair bit of height on Pav. If he can bulk up a bit we're on.

Ysaye Jye definitely played further up the ground in Peel's first game after a quiet start and thought he did well to present and got more involved where he found most of his possessions. Looked promising 👍

Agreed re the pass to Sturt. Am confident he would have nailed that goal. Clearly he's a selfless player who wanted to get Sturt involved which is a great thing but yeah go for the goal 😊
