I had a quick chat to Spitta yesterday at the game yesterday (in his Suns shirt. Seems like a lovely bloke. All the best to him.
Having dealt with him personally, can only endorse what you said, wholeheartedly. He is indeed a top quality human being.

What's the old captain up to these days? It feels like he fell off the face of the Earth a bit.

Looking online, it seems he's an AFLW assistant coach at the Gold Coast. Up there with his brother.

Devon Smith has broken Spitta's most tackles in a H&A season record that had stood since 2010.
The difference being how much of the ball Spitta also had in that season, whereas, DS had to tackle because he hardly had the ball.

Despite his accolades was probably still not appreciated enough.

That super level of consistency he had wasn't some by-product of being a blue collar player or dumb luck.

He was cut from the Anthony Stevens, Peter Bell cloth of turning up to play every single time on game day.

Glad he's enjoying his life always had a lot going for him off-field (not just the obvious looks :sternlook) so not surprised but pleased to hear all the same.

Yep. Could have had a side career as a male model. Even after Hodge sniped him.
