It seems it was only 10 days or so ago that we were discussing our 2021 season, but now it's time to turn our attention to season 2022

And good to see the club has been busy in the offseason and first up is welcoming the newest member of our VFL squad

His style of play and stature is very Milne-esque... A little bit like Brent Harvey too.

Black has retired and gone to modewarre and lang has returned to colac full time as a co-coach so we've lost a bit of experience there. Id imagine we want to bring in some experienced vfl guys as well as development guys and hopefully one of them is a key defender.

I wonder if we could look at the guys who missed out in draft... or do we go the mature route like last year Lang and Thurlow...basically experience with no chance of advancement.



I feel it would be good to have someone like this in our VFL side, to get a feel for them and then we can make a judgement call on them down the track

Like this kid. Sounds like he was a bit unlucky. Im sure there would be several that were right on the verge of selection.

Charlie Molan is a coach's dream. The Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels utility is the ultimate team player and one of the most guaranteed locks for playing a role his side needs. His defensive accountability, work rate and versatility make him perfect as that plug-and-play type who can go in any position on the field, and make few mistakes. He might not be the most flashy player and create those memorable offensive moments that everyone can relate to, but if you want a player that gives 100 per cent effort each and every game, and rarely makes a massive blue, then Molan is that player.

Not sure why this player has not yet been drafted, OR, he could be overrated by those at ER, but they certainly rate him.
They thought he would be selected even ahead of Soligo.

Good signing. We have a very young vfl squad and while he hasnt played a lot of footy the last few years due to injury we need his experience among the group.

Hopefully we can get oscar morrison on our vfl list as it sounds like we have some interest.

Also sounds like kade chalcraft is training with our vfl group (admittedly we tend to have a big group of trainees fighting for a few spots) so he might ve in contention for the vfl list.

Its hard to see how someone who could be considered such an early pick 4 years go..is now only VFL..but obvious it happens. One would think a close up look with him in our VFL would give him a glimmer of light at 21 going on 22, he is not old.

Would make sense and one would think he would be the type that would be in with a chance ata nid year selection if he meet demands, especially if they feel he could be a 2022 selection. Again..we get to see him up close. Must be an advantage compared to just picking them based on NABL form.
