He's going to have the hardest few months of his life, probably needs the first half a dozen rounds in the VFL.

Then, I think we will see him challenge for a spot mid year.

Given his goal scoring ability, he's probably able to play a bit earlier than if he was just purely a pressure forward, he wouldn't have the tank.

He almost has a spot to himself on the list if he can get himself up to basic physical spec.

We have no other small forwards who were putting up strong scoring numbers (albeit erratically) in their junior year to compete with his.
I could be wrong but Im pretty sure Noble recruited Charlie Cameron twice.
That is a pretty good track record with small forwards.

I spoke to someone close to the Western Jets and he said Paul Curtis is the best talent to come out of their program in over 5 years. When i raised Eddie Ford, he replied that Curtis had more talent and worked just as hard as Ford. He said if he had to pick out the two who would make it he didn't hesitate and say Curtis.

His words when describing Curtis were smart, evasive, great skills and has courage.

I asked him about Ford and he said heaps of talent just needs to stay focussed. Thinks there will be no.issue with Curtis on that front.

We'll see I guess, he could be a mate of Curtis for all I know but an interesting convo.

Thanks for the info.

Did he forget about the no 1 pick 4 years ago in Rayner?

Rayner was stupidly overrated. I'm not saying this in hindsight - I posted rankings on here before that draft and had Rayner ~15th from memory.

Curtis over Rayner for me
Out of curiosity, who did you have as number 1 for that draft?

I hope this isn’t looked back upon like Super Gav > Pendles.

I’m with ya mate, Curtis is to Michael Walters what Jono Brown is to duck.

I didn’t have Rayner as low as you but I definitely had LDU as the best prospect in that draft.

Couldn’t believe it when he slid to pick 4.

This will be a big year for that draft crop. Brayshaw, Naughton and Bailey are great players already. Some of the others have shown promise. This is the year that a few (including LDU and Sleevo) will be hoping to become consistent A graders.
