I saw some of the projected ladders are starting to come out. Good news is that West Coast aren't going to be very good. Bad news is that they're also projecting us to be sh*t.

Why would the Tigers bounce straight back into the eight?
Cats could be the big sliders, but I expect the others to be playing finals.
2 changes to the eight, and we should be in the mix.
We will need plenty to go right, but we need to be a contender.

Well considering how squiggle nailed their 2020 predictions, we should all be tipping Freo to win the flag. Preseason predictions like this are as useless as **** in a bull.

I have seen their draw. I can see Richmond get 13 or 14 wins looking at their fixture

But saying that, Freo has to start well. Not trying to be arrogant, Freo could start 3-0 or 5-0.

After the crows game we got 3 Perth stadium games in a row. The last 5-7 games of the season will be tough

After 3 new cases of the new covid variant Omicron was detected in the crowd at Optus stadium, state daddy has put WA in full lock down for 28 days.

The squiggle is good but very bad at predicting changes in teams. It takes a 2 year view so will favour teams falling and discount potential risers.

The 8 is going to change again, let’s hope we’re in it.

I don’t understand the squiggle at all. If it’s bad at predicting changes in teams then what the heck is it good for? If it favors teams falling got clearly got hawthorn, tigers, and pies totally wrong. What IS the squiggle good for if not a prediction of future team performance?

Maybe my tiny brain can’t play the 4D chess that the squiggle plays.

The squiggle is better at predicting in season and rating wins/loses with degrees of difficulty to then predict which teams are flying and which had easy draws / lucky wins that eventually get found out.

Got 6/8 of the finalists. West Coast arguably helped out by having a string of home games thanks to Covid

You know what other model got 6/8 finalists correct in 2020?

The 2019 ladder ;)

Most of these models are no more insightful than doing a basic analysis of the AFL ladder from the previous year.

That’s exactly where I was going! I don’t see what was posted as anything more insightful than the the ladder from the year before.

Love the optimism, but Collingwood losing every game?

Jeez this would be an exciting season though.

First couple games look decent. If we're serious on contending this season then smashing Adelaide at Adelaide Oval (one of our worst preforming grounds), rolling those pretenders St.Kilda at home then heading into the first derby away against the scum. Either 2-1 or 3-0 before hosting a Green-less Giants? Sounds bloody good to me

Grab some away wins and our season will be a good one.
