How do the American fast food chains rank down there in terms of popularity?

McDonalds >>> KFC >>> Subway >>> Hungry Jacks (Burger King in the USA)

Carls has started opening up in Australia over the past couple years but only has a handful of outlets in each state (Same goes for Taco Bell).

2. Subway
3. KFC
4. Hungry Jacks aka Burger king, even though they aren't connected now.
5. Dominos
6. Pizza Hut - Used to be huge but Dominos took a lot of their business I think.

The rest probably are close for the rest of the positions.

Edit: Just googled this and Subway was No.1 in 2017 for number of stores but I think Maccas for revenue.

2. Hungry Jacks

4. Red Rooster

I don't really eat fast food that much though I'd rather spend big on delicious thai curry, samosa, chilli hot pot etc.

Red Rooster was good years ago, but it's gone to s**t now.
Carl's Jr is my #1, but I can't get it unless I make the trek to Cranbourne.
Had it on the way home from the G last weekend.
Really hanging out to try Jollibee if they ever come to Australia. My Mrs swears by it.

As someone who spent years living directly next-door to Red Rooster I'd have to say you are wrong. As recently as this year they have had a lunch-time special of large chippies for only $2.

Two goddamn pieces of gold and one large chippies in return, how can you go wrong with that?!?!

Go to Richmond for Pho or find a laksa joint. Even the city is full of those super cheap baguettes. Ethiopian curries at Footscray or Collingwood. Arepas and empanadas. I’m really hungry now. I’m going to have to swing past the hardware society on way to work

That doesn’t seem like a good enough reason but to be fair I live inner suburbs so lots of options for food are close. Probably the convenience is a bigger factor in other suburbs.
