Have to take danger at that price i think and ditto neale both played large parts of the year injured which affected their scoring youd expect they are value if fit.

Cogs is more a worry because gws have so many mids and leon has a habit of shunting some into the forward line. Id want to see where he plays in the practice games.

If preuss looks like he will be their no1 ruck hes worth considering but flynn had a very good year pre injury and might take that spot. Youre not going to spenr 200k on a bench ruck so its only worth it if hes clearly their no1 ruck.
Disagree on Danger, I see his average dropping again and more niggly injuries. Can't pick him as a MID only. There will still be big games, but the SC god is gone imo.

Surprised he's not fwd/mid again, there are a few odd positions.

He could be an interesting pick.
Started the year strongly last season.
Extra Greenwood minutes?

Who was our last quality Defensive rookie? Finlayson?
Yeah maybe, hard to remember any bottom priced ones that got to $300k+ quickly.

I think there was another one the same year as Finlayson, but I can't remember the name. There were 3 that year that were OK, the other was that kent from Collingwood that got done for drugs, Murphy?
Mihocek was a good one about 3 years ago.
2018. Doedee, Finlayson & Murray. Excellent starting them as D4-D6.
Doedee! that's who it was. Good memory 👍

2019 cheapie Def rookies that played Rd1

Scrimshaw (Def) 149k - 10 games - 65 Average (peak price 311k Rd10)
Duursma (D/M) 130k - 20 games - 74 Average (Peak price 383k Rd14)
Wilkie (Def) 124k - 22 games - 71 Average (Peak price 373k)
Hore (Def) 117k - 14 Games - 70 Average (Peak price 423k Rd15)

Different players .

Greenwood gets the hsrd ball ,loves tackle.

Bowes outside type , could play wing IMO.
Good boot on him.

I heard he might be wookied.

Was unsure if he was ..
When Preuss gets his yearly 15 week injury they are going to draft Mummy back at the midseason draft.
He is insurance for the inevitable injury.
Preuss has played 4 games in a row twice in his career (both times in 2017). Never more than that. That is after 6 years on AFL lists.

They will have to change there set up IMO.
Constable is Greenwood lite. I doubt he attends as many centre bounces as Greenwood did.

Pretty sure they had lukosius on a wing at the start of the year .
Bowes 100% back.

They prob swap that.

Greenwood a big out for them IMO..

Strnadica could be back. Loophole of years gone past.
A few low priced rookie chances.
SSP window opens January 10 and runs through to March.

Rowell having a full preseason will take some of the load IMO.
Greenwood out means there young blokes get more time in the middle.
Might work out great for them.

Someone like Hewitt might be cheaper and can play mid ...
Also a Def in SC.

But do you fook around with your backs .

Hewitt DPP also helpful..
I think if you are after that DPP you just take Crisp and Whitfield. Ideally with a cheap d/m rookie.
Laird worked great last year because he averaged enough to be played on both lines.
Hewitt might average 90 and be a passable defender. But you wouldn't want him in your mids i reckon.

Luko is moving forward is the word.

Greenwood out is one year early for the young blokes but not the end of the world.

I was thinking about Sicily the other day.
Injury return question marks.
Play forward question marks.
Being a flog and getting suspended question marks.
Other great options in defence who should average more than him.
Pass.

T.Mitchell said he plays best down back.

Unsure on him ATM.

If he is played down back in the pre season it may tempt me.

His best season was 2018 with 105 average over 14 games. He misses a lot of games.
I think Stewart, Hall, Seagull, Ziegull, Ridley, Crisp, Whitfield and Helmet can average more than that.
Im sure I am forgetting a gun defender or 2 as well.

All depends on price. All those others you listed have issues too - Stewart, Hall, Whitfield injury, Ridley, Crisp, Helmet role. Ziebell lol priced at his maximum, the only way is down for him imo. The Gull is the only safe pick there.

Not next year. I never start him because hes "too expensive" and it kills me. I'm starting him in 2022, watch him average 90 for the first 10 rounds. 😪

If Hewett plays 100% midfield he's underpriced. Average over 90 is fine for a D6 starting under $400k.

Nah, Dawson is gone. McInerney and Blakey playing back. You think the mighty Gull will let them take his chips? No chance.
