Appeared to get more time on ball against Glenelg. He was getting all over the ground and finding the ball. Has some zip, grunt and skills, well worth persisting with after a full pre-season.

Has looked much better in the last third of the year, coinciding with him playing more around the ball as a high half-forward. I do wonder what the point of the selection was though. We picked a midfielder to fill a hole as a small forward, looked poor as a small forward, and then move him to midfield and he looks better all of a sudden... It's hard to visualise how he can get a gig us a midfielder or high half-forward in the AFL with the quality of players we have in that area and the deficiencies in his game.

Happy to retain him for one more year but has a big preseason ahead in developing a few more AFL competencies. Lots of work to do with ball use and goal kicking.

Is Jed allowed to play for Struts in the finals, or has he been permanently cleared to PAFC?
It's moot as sturt didn't make it but;

Port and SANFL would have to agree like Richmond have with Parker playing WAFL finals.

Both Richmond and South Fremantle, with the endorsement of the West Australian Football Commission, reached an agreement this week to allow Parker to play before returning back to Punt Road.

He deserves another year, after being played out of position as a small forward, he showed something as a mid where he was excelling for Sturt.

He's another tiny teddy though, but our midfield cupboard is looking bare (sorry) so let's see if he can add something.

Unless you've got something above and beyond you aren't going to cut it as a small mid in the AFL these days. Nothing looks like he's not going to be Sam Gray 2.0 (hopefully not for 99 games though).

At least the kid can chase and tackle which is more than what i saw in the prelim.

So back to the days where Tom Logan was picked, because he tried. Christ we are falling back fast.
Takes all sorts to make a great team, Max Rooke and Michael Wilson weren’t the best individual players but made 15 men walk taller! Maybe, right now we may have a bit too much Cream?

Not saying Jed is going to make it, but if he can perform a role better than anyone else, he is worth another crack. Maybe when he came in, we noticed (maybe why he wasn’t picked up earlier or in his draft year) that his defensive game was not where it needed to be and we focused and improved this area to a level that showed the dedication required to be a professional footballer?

For the record I had #15 on my back from 1997, remember the two knee reconstructions like they were my own - first experience of heart break when he decided to change numbers to the 21.
Injuries stopped Wilson reaching his full potential, but he was a rising star winner, skilled as well as tough as nails. I get the point you are trying to make, but that was not the player to pick.
