We had a whole squad unavailable 2 years ago and had to play. Bet plenty of the positives are unvaccinated. With the semis in early January theres no room to postpone. And PL wont move games to accomodate an EFL comp.

Not sure how the games can be postponed with the semi final in early January.


Arsenal / Sunderland should be fine and Spurs / West Ham should be fine.

Good stuff, would hope most clubs do that where feasible.

Sensible thing to do is make the semi finals one leg. Play quarter finals fixture on the date of semi first leg and semis on date of second leg.

Otherwise we could end up shambolic scenes like 2 years ago when we were forced to play with our whole senior squad unavailable.

I do find it interesting that Leicester who supposedly had a covid outbreak a week ago and couldn't field a team against Sputmrs can suddenly field a near full strength lineup for the League Cup 1/4 final.

The ones that missed Napoli would all have completed their isolation by Sunday. Now its as little as 7 days so anyone that tested positive any time prior to last Tuesday could (Subject to conditions) have been cleared to play today.
