The Serious Covid Thread - For Those Who Want Serious Discussion

I know. But I think there is an under-appreciation of how high Omicron case numbers are going to go and how quickly they'll get there.
Sounds a bit over the top door knocking pharmacists when he already has an appointment. Particularly in rural Victoria.

With your talk of specialists, i suspect you're relatively high risk. If that's true, I'd be door knocking pharmacies tomorrow. Cases are going to go really high really quickly.if the rest of the world is anything to go by.
I don’t qualify until the 27th.
And over Xmas there won’t be much open that will be doing vaccinations up here.

So the Normal Mask is Useless now?

always have been unless you use, replace and dispose like the medical profession. To be effective they should be getting thrown out at least daily. Who does that?. Most are taken off, shoved in your pocket, sitting on seat in car or glove box, covered in grease or crap if your a tradie, then put back on your face.

They're really just to reduce the distance and quantity of droplets that you exhale - more for protecting others from you rather than the other way around.

I only throw mine away when I can see visible stains on the surface. At $1 a shot, I am not changing a mask on a daily basis. My Thai mate who recently got out of prison has an assortment of masks, most of them far more presentable than my hospital-grade Chemist Warehouse masks. After nine and a half years inside wearing drab prison garb, he seems determined to make a fashion statement now with every item of clothing he wears. Some of his choices leave a bit to be desired. A t-shirt that resembles a page of a newspaper and a pair of shorts with the word F*CK in large black letters on a white background just above the knee. Like so many Asians who buy clothes with English words on them, he had no idea what he is wearing.

How can they be so expensive. They're a box of 50 for about $7.5 in KL. Early on in China they were in such short supply that we used to wash them

You see many ppl including myself wearing them under their noses, most ppl like you say dont follow the proper guidelines for mask wearing. Had an argument with an anti-vaccer, he said I'll educate you. Covid is bla bla microns and goes straight through a mask, then showed a vid of a guy smoking with a mask on, lol. I tried to explain to him that covid isnt on your breath it doesnt have wings, its when you sneeze and cough that it becomes airborne and its stuck to a huge chunk of water or phlemg that's a huge 5 micron. He sent me a heap of links wich I told him I wouldnt read.

400+. I heard it on the news. Human error.

Not the news we wanted.

NSW hospitalisations have spiked over the last couple of days but ICU numbers are still "manageable" according to the age.

We're all going to be exposed to COVID. Hopefully we don't get sick. Given the lockdowns of the last 2 years, I find that a vastly more preferable risk.

So Pretty Much say Good Luck with Covid and Hope you don't get Sick.

Doubt the People Working at the Hospitals would love that Approach
