fu**. I legitimately thought the cricket started today. I had planned things around this. Now I find out it doesn't start until Wednesday. ******* hell.

I cracked the sads a few years ago when they moved the Sydney Test from the 2nd to the 3rd, but this is just outrageous.
It's because Cricket Australia wants the match to incorporate the weekend. Funny thing is that it's fine today and tomorrow, and then the rain starts on Wednesday - just in time for the cricket.

Probably also because the English brought the plague with them. What is it now, 2 coaches left and their dog as support staff?
I'm sure Botham and Atherton would like to have another crack at us. Does anyone have a set of creams that will fit Beefy?

With the yacht race over, there should be some spare mainsails around.

Just on the Sydney rain; I went to every New Years test from 1975 v England to 1987 v England and the only test I can remember being seriously affected by rain is the 84 farewell to Lillee, Marsh and Chappell v Pakistan. Since then there's been quite a few. One up for the "good old days".

Bangladesh has racked up 458 and has the Kiwi's 5/147 in their second dig.

Remind me, who's the number one test playing nation?
Did you see the review during today's play? Worst review in history - Bangladesh appealed for LBW, and when the umpire said no, they reviewed the decision. On replay, it completely missed the pad, and hit the middle of the bat!!!

No I didn't. I'll have to chase that up.

Interesting stat.

The last time Smith and Khawaja played England at Sydney, they scored 83 and 171 and almost 200 run partnership.

If you jinx this so help me.....

Also, we should swap some of the batters with the groundstaff, that intent and ability to get the covers on and off would mean glorious cover drives.

Small problem for England - whatever we score, they have to try and match it. And given how many walking wickets they have in their team, that won't be easy.

8/416 declared hopefully only bat once.

The Goat with a big one at the end, bloody lovely.
Haven't you heard? England is batting 3 times in this game, to give them more of a chance to make Australia bat again :).

Interesting to see what they do when Head comes back.
The poms won't be winning this one and are now hoping for rain to save them
Surely Khawaja moves to opener, and Head returns to number 5. Either that, or Green makes way for Head, who drops to 6.
