Some of my predictions for season 2022

Pies will make the eight after putting all the turmoil that derailed our 2021 season behind us.
Nick Daicos will win the Rising Star.
Melbourne will fall out of the eight due to their big premiership hangover.
Buddy Franklin will go out with another premiership.
Sydney, Port, Richmond and the Dogs to play in the preliminary finals.
Adelaide Crows to get the wooden spoon.

What are your predictions?

Tyler Brown becomes a mainstay in the side and goes on to poll 9+ brownlow votes

Agree Re:Nick

Richmond will see 2021 wasn't just a blur, their era is finished. They wont make finals.
Pies will play an exciting brand of footy and win more games than some think
Hawks/Crows battle it out for the spoon
Essendon and Saints gets their hopes up for nothing when Ben King signs a long term deal with the suns (before round 1)
Lipinki comes in the top 5 for the copeland
Eagles sink lower and start to realize its time to rebuild as Hurn, Shuey and Kennedy retire
Fremantle makes the 8
Dogs find themselves realizing what its like post a GF smashing and can't back up from 2021
Port v Brisbane battle it out for the flag in extra time. (proh a bit too extreme this one, but would be fun to see a GF go to extra time)

Hate to say it, but Carlton are going to be good next year.

We will improve. I don't think we'll make the finals but we'll go close.

Maynard's foray into the midfield will be a success.

Kreuger will stand up as a key forward, kicking 25-30 goals.

Mihocek will relish the role as third tall and kick more than that.

Nick Daicos will play round 1, step into AFL footyat a high level and not miss a beat. Wins rising star

ND, Ollie Henry and Ginnivan are the youngsters who lock into the 22 and look to have the potential to be very good or better

Pieshave bottom 4 finish but pick up a highend KPF from the draft

Dogs and Demons move further ahead from the rest of the comp with their lists further enhanced by the youngsters they have pick up in recent seasons. Play off again and Dogs win

The one i fear is Carlton and especially Ess are getting their rebuilds right and both play finals in 22, Essendon younger group seen to be one of the best in the comp.by seasons end,.

Carlton finish bottom 6 :clapping:
Breakout year for Finn
JDG to come back fit, pushes price right up with a massive year but stays for reasonable coin.
Bruzz AA
Steele retires EOY
Collingwood pushes finals but fall short.
Pendles top 5 B&F, again But has a heap of emerging talent pushing him.

Think Steele has 2 seasons left in him.
His tank will get him thru…as long as he continues to accumulate disposals & drifts forward for the odd goal.
He has youth breathing down his neck…so he has to work hard this year.

Fly instructs Grundy to tap it to a running midfielder instead of his own feet. We get 10% better.
A midfield built around Adams, De Goey, Pendlebury, Maynard and Lipinski ups the production rate and reduces the flow in the other direction. Another 10%.
More positive game plan means we have larger losses but more wins.
Sidebottom plays primarily off HFF with a brief to tidy up our delivery inside 50.
With more and better entries, Mason Cox holds down FF despite competition from Freddy — kicks 35 goals and sets up a few for others.
We miss the 8 but surprise most people with our improvement. Pundits note that with natural improvement from youngsters we are a good bet to make finals in 2023.

2022 Predictions....🤔

Pies to win between 8 to 10 games, a stark improvement from 2021, in our game style.

Fin Macrae to win the rising star, with Nick Daicos finishing top 5.

Lipinski, with regular midfield time at the Pies, to make the AA squad of 40.

Pendles to take on the player/ on field coach role, and play predominantly off half back.

Ollie Henry's aerial ability to become a highlight throughout the season.

Darcy Moore to win the Copeland and be the AA CHB.

Carlton will finally again play finals

Brisbane to win a final and eventually be Premiers.

Melbourne to not even get to the Preliminary final.

DeGoey takes up free agency at the end of the season and moves to another club for 2023.

Nick Daicos to replace Noble as the 7th defender
(Allowing Maynard and Nick D to split time in the midfield)
Finn Macrae to become a fixture in the midfield
Grundy has a resurgent season
A fit Howe and Moore under Leppitch pushes Collingwood to being the AFL's best defence
Pies finish just outside the 8

1 - Finn to take sizeable steps in 2022 and lock in a midfield spot. I remember watching brother Jack's early years and his breakout in his second year, I don't see any reason why Finn can't do similar.
2- Reef to showcase his abilities and why he is so highly rated. I don't think we'll get 20 games out of him, but he'll show flashes of his power and pace, enough to get us excited for 2023.
3- Checkers to benefit most from a new game plan and some more tall timber around him. Tipping him to kick 40+ plus in 2022
4- 20 games from Jamie Elliott will see him pick up an AA blazer. Similar to Mihocek he will thrive under a more attacking game plan, plus with some exciting talent like Henry, Beau and Ginni around him, I can see Jamie stepping up and reminding everyone that he is as good as any other small/med forward in the league.

Pies finish bottom four, probably bottom two and in for more pain before starting to turn the corner in 2024. Would love to see us stop trading our future picks, it’s done quite enough damage if we finish where I expect us to in 2022. Happy to look at future pick trading before we start to give the appearance of trending up so probably happy to look at it in 2023.

1. Pies' football opens up and is far more entertaining to watch, however it's not enough to prevent a finish in the bottom three
2. Jamie Elliott has a career best season, booting 45 goals and making the AA squad of 40
3. Ginnivan has a solid breakout, kicking 25-30 goals similar to how Papley performed at 20 years old
4. Charlie Dean gobbles up an early debut and plays out the season, preparing us for a life without Howe and Roughead
5. The Magpies have one All-Australian, and it's Brayden Maynard
6. Lipinski is a disappointment, and doesn't place top 10 in the B&F
7. Jordan De Goey returns to Collingwood and plays, mostly in an effort to up his value, before the club and player part ways at the end of the season
8. De Goey takes the best offer he can get, a generous offer from a declining Geelong and the Magpies go to draft night with two top 4 picks

If Elliott and Ginnivan kick 70 goals between them, we are not finishing bottom 3 mate

Larkey and Zurhaar kicked 73 between them in a 4 win norf team. King and Corbett kicked 70

Sure. At least one of those in each combo (both actually) are key forwards.

Show me another pair of small forwards who kick that many in a bottom dwelling team.

Mihocek will kick as many as Elliott, and more than Ginnivan. I'm telling you, if we get 70 goals from two small forwards, we'll nearly make finals
