NSW has just issued a tsunami warning, from what I can see Port Kembla has started showing some weird tidal measurements

If the reports of being heard in New Zealand are correct, that would make this eruption one of the loudest sounds in recorded history, rivalling the 1883 Krakatoa eruption. That one was heard from Perth and it took place in Indonesia.

Tonga has loaned from the CCP / PRC US$108 million which is due in 2024. In 2020 the Tongan requested debt relief from the PRC which was given but the debt still has to be repaid in full in 2024. To do so in time is equivalent to 24% of Tongan GDP. It would be in the defence and security interests of Australia if we were to help the Kingdom of Tonga repay their debt to the CCP / PRC.
