Absolutely. Bloody SA thing
I wonder if they have the real thing over there... Chicken Parma!

It's a long time since my time working in Adelaide. The team hit the casino pretty hard most days, and although we were paid a travelling allowance, nobody ended up braking even. But every bloody night the crew would line up outside some freaking pie-cart to enjoy a floater on their way to Hindley St before returning to the hotel for about 3 hours sleep. I can hack a Balfours pastie, but I draw the line at pie floaters.

Show us a real one (not a trumped up tourist styled floater).
Just like the one above. That’s just got mash and chutney on it.
I make my own, sometimes just pea soup, sometimes pea and ham. And a decent pie is a must. I’ve never actually bought one, the famous late nite food van closed down years and years ago. ( And I am from WA after all).

Idk if it’s just me but I can handle spice really well but the fking McSpicy from maccas is something else, like that s**t burns so bad

I hosted Christmas this year and cooked up a three course storm today.

First course: tabbouleh, Greek salad and woodfire roasted potatoes

Second course: traditional Napoli woodfire pizza

Third course: Nutella calzone with strawberries, bananas and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with fudge sauce

A quiet one for us. Mrs H, Grandma H and I cooked up a nice little feast...

Kids went for Jam sandwiches!! I couldn't even sneak Cranberry on there! Served on a North plate though, so I let him off!

had my first hot pot experience yesterday at dragon hot pot!! Literally 10:30 working on my floor mucking around 2 girls (one I knew through a friend) asked me to go to hotpot and we finished at 11 so we rocked up around 11:20 and got in around 12, it’s so worth the wait!!

your friend group definitely influences what you eat as well, I also tried Korean army stew on Christmas Eve (Hojuman would be proud) with my friends it was elite but a bit too spicy.

Korean Army stew = Buday Jigay:
. Spam
. Sausage
. Tofu
. Kimchi
. Baked beans
. Noodles
. Can add cheese on the top at the end.

If cooked properly very yummy ( the spam usually puts people off though )

Dinner tonight was pizza made from the Christmas day left-overs.

Home made yeast dough, but I only did a single rise. It was pretty soft and there was no way to lift and flip it, but it stretched out nicely and was perfectly light. The cheese, cold meats, sun-dried tomato and olives from Christmas day topped it off beautifully (actually, I preferred the pizza to the charcuterie board myself).

Christmas pizza made from left-overs. Yum.

#1 son finished off the pav (three regular sized slices). There was a bit of whipped cream left over so I knocked up a chocolate ripple cake. Normally I don't eat cream (except as ice-cream) but this diabetic inducing delight is an exception (as is pav by the way).

As they were mentioned elsewhere by ferball here is a take on Falafel that is worth making as a special (veg) treat...

For those who like to tweak, why not take a look at this (similar) recipe, then pick and choose the bits that work best in your opinion...
