Bontempelli's and Petracca's are completely different and highlight how their roles differ to the others, who are forwards with midfield minutes.
Stringer, Martin, Bontempelli and Petraccas heat maps show that they all get the majority of there possessions in the midfield, whereas Greene and Fritsch get the majority inside forward 50. The obvious difference between Stringer/Martin and Bont/Petracca is that Bont/Petracca run back into the defensive 50. If time spent in the defensive 50 what you want to use as a definitive cut off for what a midfielder is then go ahead but I see no reason for it to be so strict and I will continue to describe them both as a midfielders.

If Touk Miller can repeat he could very well be the best player in the comp in 22. Crazy.

A lot of people sleeping on Danger and Grundy. Expect them to bounce back too I'd imagine.

You’ve changed your story.

Originally stating he doesn’t get the attention because he plays in a bottom half team.

I caught you out as I pointed out he won a Brownlow in 2019 playing in a bottom half team, he was getting attention in 2019.

I said the past 2 years he has not performed at his high level as to why he is not getting attention.

Then you basically agree with me saying he’s been injured the past 2 years

So you agree, he hasn’t performed the past 2 years as to why he doesn’t get the attention.

I think you need to put your brain back in when coming onto the main board

Lol, I haven’t changed anything. He has still played good footy since 2019. And he has been injured. He won a brownlow when they were flying and as you pointed out, he won one when they weren’t. And it’s a fact. He doesn’t get the media attention of a vic based player. You, you’re opinion, is he hasn’t played well since 2019. All i did was point out he has been injured.
I disagree with your opinion. Nat Fyfe is still a top 5 player in the league. To suggest he isn’t is pure folly.

He hasn’t played at the level he previously has the past 2 years, and that’s why he doesn’t get the attention. Nothing to do with his teams performance as he got plenty of attention in 2019.

I’ve also never stated he isn’t still a top player, in fact he was in my top 10 players in the league from only a few months ago, clearly stating he won 2 Brownlows.

Interstate players simply do not get the coverage of Vic based players. It’s a fact. Petracca has had one consistent year. Guys like Fyfe do it year in, year out.

Fact is Fyfe has been below his best the past 2 years, media or not, he has not been at his best. Year in year out but he hasn’t done it the past 2 years.

I’ve not spoken of Petracca but those same 2 years Fyfe has been down he’s came 3rd and 9th in the Brownlow and won the Norm Smith medal. Fair to say the past 2 years he’s performed better than Fyfe, consistent 2 years.

Some people specialise in reinventing the truth.

He's been in the AA best 18 two years in a row.

He won Melbourne's B&F in 2020 and finished 2nd in 2021, you know, a flag year.

Don’t get precious. Two years. Like i said, some guys do it year in, year out.

Fyfe has 3 all Australians, 2014, 15 and 19.

He’s missed out being all Australian 5 of the past 6 years. Year in year out?

Plus 2 brownlows and countless other awards. Also played in a GF. But you know, he’s (lol) no Pertracca……

I’m not comparing him to Petracca.

I don’t think Fyfe has been as consistent as you think, his best seasons have been very good, he just doesn’t do it year in year out.

I had considered him probably the number 1 player in the league for a while

But he has slipped a bit the last couple of years probably because of both age and injury. Not sure at 30 he can bounce back into the top5 or so players tbh

There's only one player that consistently wins games (particularly finals and GFs) and destroys the opposition. Dustin Martin.

Forget all the crap around stats and possessions. This guy will destroy you with half the possessions of some of these crap stat gatherers. This guy will mentally torture his opponents one out in the forward line. Unselfish team player. Record speaks for itself.

Don't write him or Richmond off for season 2022.

Dustin Martin didn't even play finals in 2021 and the 16 games he did play wasn't enough to get Richmond within sniffing distance of September action.

He looked like a stick figure post kidney injury and sadly he'd be going through a really rough time mentally as well.

There's 20 guys ahead of him right now, probably more.

Dream on sunshine. You've become all cockahoop after slashing your wrists for the best part of 6 decades.

I'll concede Petracca improved dramatically over the last couple of years, but he's a long way off Dusty status.

Good to see Melbourne up and about but don't get too far ahead of yourself, you've got a long way to go to achieve what a few other clubs achieved over the last couple of decades. We'll see how well you handle the hunted status, and whether you get another dream run with injury in 2022.
