I'm still missing your point about money. You're making is if we were PSG that came in and bought all the best players. We started from the bottom and worked our way up to success, Fergie always preferred UK talent over any other nationality for at least half of his tenure. Fergie didn't get the war chests as the last 4 managers have had. His most expensive buy was Berbatov for 30 mil, which when doing business with Levy you're always going to overpay.

In terms of breaking the bank as you're trying to make it out to be, when we broke those records the difference wasn't much if you have bothered to look it up or going by what you can remember. You make it sound like we did a PSG and absolutely killed the transfer fee for the likes of Neymar and Mbappe. Neymar set the record at over double what the old record was. Other clubs were spending just as much as us like Blackburn, Newcastle etc. Then the oil rigs came in.

Did you not pay attention in the early 2000s when the Serie A and La liga teams were spending big on players?
Stop it. It's embarrassing.

Embrace the money. Money makes you the best. Whoever has the most money wins at football. That's the truth. You can buck the trend in moments, cup competitions or crazy league titles like Liverpool and Leicester recently but by and large, if you have the most money, you win.

Manchester United were easily the richest club in England for 20 years and you massively profited off it by buying all the best players and winning heaps of trophies.

All this coming from nothing, starting form the bottom and working you way up is nonsense.

You were the richest. You won most of the time. Then you werent the richest anymore and now you dont win. The end.

What are you on about? Nobody was ever outspending United before Roman and City. Sure one club might have spent similar or more in one window but it's the consistency of huge signings every summer, year after year after year, that always kept United at the top.
United Warrior has done my work for me on this. Your post is rubbish mate. Plenty of clubs outspent United year on year. Huge signings year on year? Are you going to list Solskjaer, Silvestre, Cantona, Evra, Vidic and Van Der Sar again as examples of United buying the most expensive players?

Im actually gobsmacked that United fans sit around thinking they won all those league titles off of the work of good scouting and shrew buys instead of spending way more than everyone else.

Like it's actually ridiculous.

More power to you guys though I guess.

It's not even something you guys need to be ashamed of. As I've pointed out, money means you're the best. You were the richest for a very long time which meant you won heaps of trophies. Congrats. Now you're not the richest anymore and shock, horror. You've won nothing for a decade.

Money = success. It's always been that way.

That certainly helps. But Alex Ferguson could not have managed Norwich to Premier League and CL glory.

He had a ton of money to spend.

No arguments that he's not the GOAT manager but he was backed to the hilt.

It's fine. You guys had a great manager and were the richest club in England for two decades. You took advantage and won everything.

Times have changed now though.

He beat Bayern Munich and Real Madrid with Aberdeen.

Now tell me Aberdeen is a wealthy club.

You are rewriting history. Which decades were we the richest club? Not only did Newcastle, Leeds and Blackburn spend more than us, they stopped us buying players quite regularly.

On the whole Ferguson had a good eye for a player and an opportunity and so we bought better than our competitors generally.

Fergie broke the old firms grip on the title in Scotland and won a European trophy with Aberdeen by beating Real Madrid. Think he would have been successful anywhere he went.

They sure did, they had heaps of sh*t players in that team like Rooney, Van Persie, Berbatov, DDG, Giggs, Ferdinand, Evra, Vidic, Young, Hernandez, Carrick, Scholes, Kagawa... How did he do it?!
Funny how a few people on here say that those players were s**t yet they are used to justify Uniteds dominance.

Huh? When did I argue against Fergie. I've said multiple time he is the GOAT manager. Just helps that he had all that money and managed the biggest club in England at the time for two decades.

And you were quite clearly the richest club in England in the 90's and 00's. Then Chelsea came along in the mid 00's and took over and then City came and decimated everybody.

How come Leeds, Blackburn and Newcastle havent broken the the English transfer record like 12 times like United have.

This is actually hilarious that all you United fans seem to think your dominance wasnt hugely helped by the fact you were richer than everyone else. Haha.
