Wtf is canon?

Traditionally it's books/works considered genuine or accepted (i.e., what goes in the Bible versus what doesn't), extended to multi-text narratives (e.g. comics, Star Wars) to describe what is considered an accepted part of the narrative and what isn't. For comics, and comic book movies now, canon is frequently changing and very confusing. Disney removed a lot of works from the Star Wars canon when they purchased Lucas Arts so they'd have a cleaner slate to work with. For most things it's just what's authorised/licenced. Authorised James Bond or Sherlock Holmes books versus someone's fanfiction.

It's a fun read and not too long. What I like about the book is that he doesn't stray into more conspiratorial waters, things that he can't prove and he acknowledges when there are gaps, but what he can substantiate is very compelling all the same.

Whatever your opinion of it, I think you'll want to talk about it, which imo is the sign of a great book.

And even if you hate it, it will still be better than whatever that was from us today. Perhaps the only time I've ever been thankful for geo-blocking!
