Geelong West in 1983 where horrible. They lost 88.23 (551) to 2.2 (14) in Round 13 and then back it up with losing 110.27 (687) to 2.0 (12) in Round 14.

What would call the highest score ever recorded anywhere in any league? I would say 110.27 but it isn't recognised in the Guinness World Records. Why?

NSW/ACT Results:

I am sure Newtown beat Liverpool (Southern Districts) by well over 300 points to set a new SFL record back in 1981, but I don't know the exact scores

I found it, published in the Advertiser with a small article:

Newtown 49.26 (320)
Liverpool 6.8 (44)

So, it doesn't make it into either category unfortunately.

the scores are bloody amazing!! how can a team get so crap as to let through over 600 points???
don't see any AFL teams doing to each other, has that ever happened?

If I'm right, Geelong has the highest VFL/AFL score with 37.17 239 against Brisbane at Carrara in about 1991 when Gary Ablett was flying.

I think the Swans might be second with about 236 in 1987.

SUNSHINE HEIGHTS 9.3 17.8 27.15 44.16.280
BRUNSWICK POWER 0.1 1.2 1.2 2.6.18

Goals SH A. Pante 12, Camilleri 7, Greto 6, Saleb 4, Nicoladies 3, Demetriou 3, Dean 2

First one is correct.

Second is Fitzroy in 1979 v Melbourne : 238 def 48. Still a record margin (190pts).

Not as much as Heights flogged them by last year (63 goals from memory)... but a pretty big score considering it poored with rain for 3/4's!!!

I'm impressed by the efforts of Clarence and South Launceston to still kick 11 and 10 goals while conceding monsters like that.

I can't remember the quarter-by-quarter's for the South Launceston game, but the game up at Boyer New Norfolk booted 16.2 in the final quarter.
I think it was 23.15.153 to 10.10.70 at three-quarter time.
The Eagles' last quarter was a TFL record quarter score at the time, it lasted only another 8 weeks when Glenorchy sunk 16.3 in the final quarter of the roster season against Hobart at KGV.

New Norfolk's 39.17.251 TFL-record was challenged by North Hobart twice - 38.15.243 to New Norfolk 11.11.77 at Boyer in 1989, and 37.24.246 to South Launceston 2.5.17 at North Hobart in 1991.
Eventually North Launceston smashed it in 1995.

Two scores I would add to the 350+ scores:

Geelong West at Williamstown on 23/7/1983

Williamstown 15.9 44.17 76.20 110.27 (687)
Geelong West 1.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 (12)

Under 14s - 17/6/1967

Noble Park 69.15 (429)
Dandenong South 0.0 (0)

Note: Doug Ensor scored 60 goals and 8 behinds in four 15 minute quarters and 8 minutes of time on. He scored 40 goals the next week and got dropped.

A few weeks ago in the NTFL (Northern Tasmania):
Devonport 41.25 (271) - East Devonport 4.7 (31)
at Girdlestone Park.

The poor old Swans have had the shit flogged out of them all year - since the above game have had scores of 247 and 243 chucked at them - and have been poor for years, and don't want to merge with Devonport.
Looks to be the end of their NTFL career the way things are going, probably should drop back to the NWFA.

On Saturday in the NWFA in Tasmania:
Forth 51.25 (331) - West Ulverstone 1.0 (6)
West Ulverstone Football Ground.

Also in the two's Forth booted another 45.25 (295) to West Ulvie's 1.0 (6)!
