It's that time of the year where we're about to hit crazy season on the board.

In order to keep some order around the place, I've locked all threads except the standard ones that we have during the season - refer #5. Will leave the rate my preseason thread going until final lockout.

Any new threads that don't fit in to the standard structure will likely end up merged with either an existing suitable thread, or the General Chat thread as a catch-all.

Good luck to everyone - this is one of the toughest years to pick a starting side that I can remember.

But yeah I'm not worried the slightest, just had one of those weeks where a few premiums let me down and a couple of spud rookie scores on the ground.

Didn't do anything really wrong or pick any disastrous picks, etc.

I reckon this team is pretty solid.

* Just traded Owens > Durdin via Rachele so I can put him at M8, threw Ward to the bench and moved N.Martin to F6.

Your team is strong although im a little worried about your mid bench.

Yeah very lean, I sacrificed it for the sake of fielding the team I wanted. Mead looked good enough in a team that’s near full strength and MacDonald was really good so I think I’ll see enough footy out of those two to make $$. The 3rd is obviously just my donut for looping purposes.

Our teams are not much different.
2 different down back.
I got berry at M6 .piggy insteed of Steele.
One different ruck.
Forward pretty much the same.

Got that spud Owens too.
Might see how Sinn goes not many other cheap mid wookies doing much.

CCj is a decent chance to get dropped.

Josh Walker likely back next week to take McKays role.

NO but i think Witts is looking like getting to $600k in 7-10 weeks and Gawn is pretty much at a high price already and i could utilize the cash saving to upgrade Berry to green and McInerney to Lipinski.

Ahh yes...the R1 beer goggles trade. Not a season goes by without this trade after Rnd 1. Different names, same trade. Worst performing primo ruck to best cheap ruck Rnd 1 score. Natanui another that many will be rage trading for cash this week. The cash grab usually backfires.
Gawn seems to specialise in ordinary first rnd performances the last 5 years or so. He is never a concern. Witts is a mid 90's avg ruckman (in a good year) playing at a bottom 4 club. Likely 30 points a week out the door, in the hope of making an extra 30 pts a week on your upgrade. 2 trades gone chasing last week's score, and at least half a season coming up chasing an upgrade to R1/2.
