Players you are surprised are still on an AFL list

Devon Smith: 4 possessions last night, none of which were after half-time. I’ll accept your apologies now for his earlier nomination.

Jared Polec off the rookie list at North mongrel punts this thread inside 50. Staggering he is getting games at a club deep in a rebuild.

We need Hartigan on our list. He had a good year last season too. He's just never been close to being one of the better key defenders in the game so he gets a little harshly judged. In saying that, it looks as though he's out of favour currently as we keep an eye on the future. If we draft a KPD later this year I'd say he might be gone.

Naish is a harsh choice for us, played two games.
Ainsworth is technically a WAFL top up but the fact he's even at that after the 5 seasons of him on the main list proving him to be a dud...

We have worse players than Dahlhaus. He’s not even been in our worst 5 players after the first two weeks surprisingly.

More that he got a spot on your list, after being delisted by Richmond. Same sorta thing with Constable at GC. Ainsworth was the other one I was considering, but didn't seem fair given he's not even a permanent AFL player, haha

Ryan Lester is a bit tough to put on this list. Can play anywhere on the ground and is usually in our best 23-25 players.
Ely Smith will probably be getting the axe this year after being on our list for 4 years without a game.

Lester has been a great player, but he's not part of the next 'wave' so to speak, and there's no chance he plays another AFL game given all the talent on your list - hence his nomination.

Really surprised Ely Smith still hasn't got a game - as I thought he looked a great prospect when you drafted him. Just hasn't come on or a dud draft pick?

Still don’t get the point of us delisting Mitch Brown. Would certainly be getting a game in our (dysfunctional) forward line. Kept him around for a while for not much reason apart from dominating VFL.

Add Dylan Clarke to that list given he is the only ‘tagged’ to have successfully negated a star player since Mark Bolton retired.

I love how people name players that are actually playing AFL most weeks.

What’s that say about the players from the same team that aren’t playing AFL
But if they actually looked at the team sheets PP, that would mean they're honouring the original premise of the thread. Instead it's just become another opportunity for them to use their posts as a way of taking potshots at players they don't rate or don't like.

If Nakai Cockatoo was pick 57 and not a first rounder he would have been cast out years ago.

even though Lever obviously left Adelaide in super amicable circumstances that every remembers fondly, I do remember some commentary at the time that said Adelaide had erred by trading back a couple of spots in the draft to grab Lever leaving Cockatoo to Geelong

Jack Silvagni, he can mark but that's about it. A terrible shot for goal and falls over too much.
I don't see his value to the team.
He could re-invent himself as a backman if he bulked up a bit.
