Victoria on the whole is a progressive state moving away from backwards conservative politics. I hope Frydenberg loses because he doesn’t deserve to be in parliament, he might hold on but it’s will be very tight. However Kooyong does not love him at all.Josh will retain his seat, the people of Kooyong love him
Media are daft by pushing the LNP so much, we dont like being told what to do. We dont like being lied to.Why am I seeing Campbell Newman's ghost right now?
You have an opponent who has seemingly used a grassroots campaign to resonate with the locals, an increasingly desperate-looking incumbent, and the Herald-Sun running propaganda that almost rivals the Courier-Mail's bikie gangs.
VIC doesn't swing like QLD does, but the tidings are ominous. It's scarcely believable, to be honest.

Yes but are they still "in love" with him?Josh will retain his seat, the people of Kooyong love him
A cunning plan, but a bit too cunning for me to buy. I am going with Josh listening to O'Brien, DimTim and the rest of the Vic Lib deplorables as the masterminds of the attack. What's interesting to me is how Smirko, Potato and Co convinced Josho to burn his electorate with his anti-Victoria statements.
Has he been played?
Tune in next time...

But how did they convince him to burn his own electorate? You can bet Smirko wouldn't have done it.barnaby had a few words to say about the smell of burning flesh in melbourne, which makes you think they were trying to bake in the hatred for the alp, to use a term reserved for scotty. seems now though with a fed election josh's chickens have come home.
When he started itemising how much money had been spent on Victoria in comparison to NSW I remember thinking this could end badly. But how did they convince him to burn his own electorate? You can bet Smirko wouldn't have done it.
Tbf I can see how the “are you kidding me” would come across as a “no I don’t” type responseOne thing you never do in Australian politics, insult the constituents in Victoria and WA…they have long memories, especially the folk from the great state of Western Australia.
I wish I still resided in Kooyong, anyways, my LNP candidate in MacNamara had her stooges out yesterday offering a chat, I asked her politely, “are you kidding me?”
She smiled and walked away…not knowing that I was willing to chat.

Maybe thinking it was a sure thing, that it would go down well. Jumped on the bandwagon not realising people can dislike both Dan and Scotty. But how did they convince him to burn his own electorate? You can bet Smirko wouldn't have done it.

I just think he saw an opportunity to take a cheap shot at Dan Andrews and didn't think of the long-term ramifications that a) the Vic State election was a long way away and Andrews had plenty of time to get things back to relative normality; and b) that his actions would be perceived as kicking his own state while it was down rather than simply an Andrews potshot. He's way overplayed his hand.
With some of his misfires on the campaign in the past couple of weeks to the point that he's practically now begging to keep his seat, I just think he isn't as smart as he thinks he is and he really doesn't understand his own electorate. An overconfident coward I suppose, given him shirking a debate with the Shadow Treasurer, or the main opponent for his seat. It's an interesting combination.
The problem for liberal party reform is that the moderates are about to be wiped out.The LNP won't go away, but they'll fragment like the ALP had, and increasingly be at the mercy of independents/minor parties. They need major reform to prevent that, but I just don't see it given their talent pool and 'nursery'.
RE The Fry preferencing ON ahead of a teal, I'm sure Kooyong voters will be thrilled about that.
Really hard to tell TBH - The Fry seems to be trying his best to lose it. I'm not sure they'll go back to the LNP either, absent serious reform. If they have a relatively moderate leader in charge they will, but absent serious reform, maintaining it will be tough, and I can't see them voting for someone like ScoMo or Dud-ton. The problem the LNP has is that those types (religious nutters/drys) dominate the party now. There aren't too many wets left, the in-betweeners are scarce, and The Fry being defeated will deprive them of one of their most important wets.
Yes he has. Morrison is sacrificing the Liberal base to eliminate all the progressives and taking out his biggest rival is sugar on top. What's interesting to me is how Smirko, Potato and Co convinced Josho to burn his electorate with his anti-Victoria statements.
