Yes of course ‘tradition’
What should Charles be wearing?
What did you think in 2019 when the Queen was in also in full regalia?
What difference does that make? What should Charles be wearing?

She has respect mate, just sit back and watch
Well I guess it just goes to highlight that we're going to have the bloke in fancy dress foisted upon us in what is likely to be the very near future. Good time to start making it an issue I reckon. Never too late. Why is it being brought up now? The State opening of Parliament happens every year with the monarch present, usually in full regalia. This year it's an issue?

Well we'd bloody well better hope he's up to the job, because we don't get a say in it. It really is a ridiculous situation and can only be defended by claiming that no Australian is up to the job, which is obviously nonsense.Yep. That's what happens in a constitutional monarchy. He's already the most well trained heir to the throne to take on the role of constitutional monarch ever, so should do a good job.
Hmm. Will it be Charles III or George VII?
Then William V.
And replace it with what? Republic?Republic - Meh.
Get rid of the bloodline monarchy though, consign royalty to the dustbin of history permanently, it is an abhorrent anachronism.
I have no idea but I am sure people smarter than me could come up with a workable model. And replace it with what? Republic?
So a republic?I have no idea but I am sure people smarter than me could come up with a workable model.
There’s the implication the monarchy will modernise itself.
Charles makes noises in this light, but next thing he’s full pomp and circumstance
Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised
It is broken, we're a modern country with a system that prevents an Australian being Head of State, which is of course ridiculous. How do all those other countries manage to to have one of their own as HoS if it's too risky for us to even dare contemplate?Until something better comes along, the British tradition works well. If it aint broke don't fix it. History rules!
Does that include the Governor-General?The monarch's a pretty cheap head of state for Oz. WA should become a republic though.
