If you want Tanner Bruhn as well it could be Hopper and Bruhn for say Geelong 2022r1 ( about pick 13) and 2023r1.
You could then maybe sign Brayshaw as a free agent and rebuild your midfield in one year to support Jeremy Cameron's flag chances.

That is something that would appeal to some. We have a few young kids but Parfitt is our only real mid in the mid 20's

Agree, first rounder and Taranto - fu** off! Trading a 15 year career + 10 career of known quantity for an admitted star but at 31 only a few years left would not be sensible.
For the star/drawing power and talent of Dusty vs long term talent of Taranto. I would be happy with a straight swap.
We do have a lot of bulls.

Just need to make sure we hang onto Green. Can’t lose both. But def def def not Green.

If we can nail Clarkson reckon Green will sign long term.

Also if we get Clarkson reckon a few guys with suspect kicking skills might not get much love from the new coach.

From Knightmare on ESPN, he must really rate Madden as a ruck and it will be interesting to see how he goes for the Allies at the Champs and other games in season

For an objective opinion where would you rate him PMBangers and if he has been mentioned on many draft boards?

15. Nick Madden

A GWS Academy ruckman, Madden stands at 204cm and 112k, and is a physical ruckman who throws his weight around. Madden influences games heavily using his body effectively to outpoint opponents at ruck contests, and demonstrates soft hands to routinely provide his midfielders with first use. Madden is also a threat when he pushes forward with his strong contested marking capabilities and scoreboard impact by position features. Averaging 14 disposals, two contested marks and kicking 5 goals from his four NAB League games, Madden is hard to miss with the influence he exerts on the play and the impact he has when he throws his body around.
April Ranking: Outside 10
A ruck named Madden, has to be done
I think a 1st and Taranto is a bit much.

That is ridiculous.
Given their ages Taranto for Martin would be a fair swap (and one I personally wouldn't make)

Most importantly, throw the kitchen sink at Clarkson. Sign him and we keep whoever we need to keep no worries. And we have recruiting power.

With Daniels out for another 5-7 weeks I see the need for a small forward in the MSD even though the club doesnt have a available pick or a LTI to place someone out for the rest of the season nut with Buckley slow in his recovery from an ACL and really not much point in him playing seniors this year he could be an option
I cant see an early retirement from any of the senior players and I do see it as highly unlikely but it does mean Bobby will get a few more games for the club to frustrate supporters

Oh agreed, just posting that I want both, though not at that ridiculous price of Tom Green that has been getting around.
Will post it regularly until it is confirmed either way.
It is a hard no on Tom Green for dusty. I would hate to lose TT but if we are to lose an inside mid I think he is the one. He is simply too slow to be anywhere other than the bottom of the pack

GREATER Western Sydney is set to step up talks with Tim Taranto’s management as the star midfielder weighs his future. Taranto is the Giants' biggest contract priority this season, with the best and fairest winner remaining without a deal for next year and being circled by Victorian clubs. The Giants have been open to a two-year contract extension taking Taranto through to his free agency year in 2024 and are also willing to offer a four-year deal to lock him in for the longer term.

I'm disappointed but not surprised we haven't got more in there tbh, I particular Jacob Jones (bottom aged forward) wouldn't look put of place in that side, but there seems to be a fair focus on giving the 03 and 04 class a go at exposing themselves.

As for our inclusion they're the ones you'd expect, Grace is interesting because he's a bit of a smoky for an MSD pick up imo, has some nice traits to him that I think will appeal to clubs looking for an opportunistic forward.

Unrelated to GWS, but I'm surprised Sydney have so many candidates given I felt they were the weakest of the Academy sides in the NAB League

Calling on your knowledge, of the Academy players in the Allies squad
Which are draftable and potential positions?
From memory Lawrence and Curry possible for main draft pick ups and Madden as a ruck anywhere from 30 to rookie? Any others to watch out for?
Gillbee isnt academy eligible but could he play Giants reserves later in the season?
TIA

They've all shown something that would mean they wouldn't look out of place as rookies, but I think Ethan Grace is the only other realistic chance to make a list at all, smart forward/ Midfielder that has some nice speed and can find the goals well.

Doubt we'll get Gillbee in the VFL this year but I wouldn't be shocked if he's on our radar anyway, has shown some real versatility this year across all thirds of the ground, can play inside or outside through the midfield and has a nice kick, bit of a plug n play type currently

Tom Browne reporting he's heard its either Taranto or Hopper and doesn't think both are going to be here long term, Taranto re-signs then Hopper might look elsewhere and then if Taranto walks Hopper would stay. Not the worst case scenario, hopefully Taranto is the one to re-sign and would free up some room to lose one of them. We don't know how Hopper is going look post multiple knee surgeries, it's all been pretty vague and not a specific injury which gives me more concern rather then it being a clear cut diagnosis.
