I swear Franklin looks at the fixture each year and circles the Bombers. Always seems to play well.
In fairness he's putting a very good year together overall. Will be crazy if he doesn't play on at this rate.

For instance, has kicked more goals from less games than McKay who everyone is frothing over. Crazy.

Quick straw poll folks

Which player would rather have at your footy club and or has a higher ceiling ?

Shai Bolton or Charlie Curnow ?
Curns.

That free against mccartin was absurd. If you haven't seen it, check it out. Both players eyes squarely on the ball and unfortunately Caldwell caught high through incidental contact, somehow a free against mccartin.
How about the advantages paid? Advantage when Draper is fumbling the ball trying to pick it up rather than Francis having a set shot, and then there was an advantage paid on a mark.

Inexcusable that one.

Watching the Saints vs Geelong replay. Does Tom Stewart ever have a direct opponent? Massively overrated. Saints are also very hard to stop when they’re on.

Like a lot of teams he’s our intercept defender, but get him 1on1 and he can be exposed. He’s issue yesterday was just dropping sodas that he normally takes.

He’s a gun though.

Did you see the non paid mark to Larkey v Port and then he got pinged for dissent?

Defintley on board now with the problem with the dissent rule. By far the biggest umpiring blunder of the season.
They have to modify the dissent rule before the finals, they have to.

Yep still a gun. Having a bad patch atm. Needs Henry back imo.

Anyone can see he’s still a gun halfback. Clubs are just targeting him atm given we’re a little undermanned and he’s being asked to do too much.

in fairness? Not as if I said he was s**t but flukes a good game against the Dons. He’s a great of the game.

Just highlighting that he seems to love slapping the Dons around over the years.

I dont think he's overrated, just plays a little like Rance. Neither are great one on one but they don't have to be as its not how they are used and are both guns

We are absolutely putrid in the wet. Whoever decided to drop Walker is a dumb campaigner. Whoever decided not to bring him back in when they saw the weather is a dumb campaigner. We have gone into this game too tall and it is showing.

From someone who watched Rance every weekend, he was a very good one on one defender. He had a handful of stinkers that opposition supporters weirdly drool over, but 99.9% of the time he was extremely reliable. Some of his duals with Buddy over the years were absolutely epic. You just don’t get called one of the greatest defenders of all time by the likes of Silvagni, Matthews, Roos, Sheahan, Watson, etc. if you’re “not great” one on one.

I also don’t think Stewart and Rance are anything alike. Rance actually had an opponent (often the opposition’s most dangerous key forward) and was held accountable. He would peel off his man a lot which would make it seem like he was playing loose, but this was absolutely not the case. Stewart is a floating HBF and is more comparable to Jake Lever. It’s probably the easiest position to play because you do no heavy lifting defensively.
