So, you are replacing the ATP Cup with the Hopman Cup, which was replaced by the ATP Cup in the first place

You know, it is almost as if you should never have replaced the Hopman Cup in the first place.

in saying that, it looks more like an ATP/WTA Cup than the ITF run Hopman Cup. Tennis, the ability to fight battles amongst itself.

Yet, some members of the ATP tour are unhappy with this move - What are these players thinking ! You can't have ranking points when certain players are ineligible for the tournament.

Serena Williams announced her retirement a couple of days ago. She will retire after the US Open.

She was so very close to catching Court for the most Grand Slam titles. She also went super close to the grand slam on top of that but did capture the Serena Slam(held all GS titles in a non-calendar year) a couple of times. An absolute great beyond words. It was unthinkable of the WTA not to have Serena not contending a couple of years ago. I think she only won 1 title since coming back from pregnancy as she seemed to get tighter and tighter in those big matches.

Of course, there is the drama as well. The whole coaching incident v Osaka at the US Open final. Then threatening to hurt a lineswoman at the US Open semis against Kim Clijsters.

Tennis has a very inconsistent policy on this whole war. it kinda showcases the screwed-up governing bodies of the sport.

Not sure where this topic fits but I see the United Cup is replacing the ATP Cup in 2023. 16 teams plus finals.

Anyone want to guess What the schedule for the 2023 summer might look like?

I liked the ATP Cup personally. But the WTA did want to do something similar so I guess best of both worlds...

Also, I'm guessing the team won't be Nick and Alja

Sounds like the Hopman Cup but with ranking points. Be interesting how they plan to schedule it.
