Did half you not watch the game? Sydney were well in it from the start they just missed every shot in first quarter. Melbourne just have got a little ahead of themselves which is understandable, went so long relatively unchallenged this will do them good.

Bloods culture is also a load of shit, they were a joke for 80 years and suddenly since the discovery of the worst football ever under Roos we are meant to believe they are some sort of hard ass club. Like Brisbane give the other teams a financial advantage for a while and they will be perenially competitive or win a flag quick, flipping a couple of weeks go bloods culture wasn't to be seen as they were dropping games and the coach was blaming them being a young team (that sounded real familiar)

I admire the Swans since Longmire is in his 12th season and is a shining example of what a long-term coach is meant to look like.

Flag in his second year, runner up in 14' and 16'. Finals series in every year except 2 I think (2019/2020) where they were rebuilding.

Meanwhile Ken is a 3 time PF loser over the course of a decade who coaches and acts like one.

John Longmire is a really good coach and the players play to instruction well. The reason for this is because they respect the coach and as a group they they know only their very best will allow them to achieve ultimate success.

In Port's case they may love the coach but do they respect him? Unfortunately Port players have been allowed to lower their goals, that's why this group with the current coach will never win a premiership.

Clubs should use their sub every week. And if pressed to justify it, just say 'we thought it could be a 2 week injury' or 'we thought playing on could worsen the injury'. Then force the AFL to call you a liar (they won't).

I like the way Sydney play but they set a bare minimum standard. We've become so vanilla & accepting of mediocrity we've forgotten who we were & who we could be.

I'd say Hawthorn, Geelong & West Coast type returns in the AFL era are benchmarks not Sydney.

Funny you mention our identity. I was talking to my lad and he said he is done with this club, he said who are we any way, Port Adelaide or Port power.
I have to say Port Power atm.
