I'd like to give a run in the seniors on the wing opposite Williams, the season is shot anyways so might as well see what he can do.
Great move!! Williams has already shown Bevo that there is more fish in the sea than Roarke who can play on a wing, and this kid has talent!

Ugle-Hagen, Jones, JJ andCleary all a long way down the player rankings. Is that how they played or were there other factors?

I thought JUH and Cleary played alright. Was certainly happy with the forward pressure from JUH.

Jones did some nice things but made plenty of unforced errors (dropping / overrunning the ball). Would still be my next choice to debut though.

JJ was disappointing for the minutes he played. Almost cost us the match by dropping an uncontested mark inside then goal square. Probably needs another match or two before senior selection.

This was a strange game. We won with a lot of players not getting much of the ball at all. Schache and Crozier were clear standouts but a lot of our other listed players played cameo roles rather than clearly influencing the contest. Of the players you mentioned, Ugle-Hagen dropped a few marks he should have taken and seemed to be well covered by the Geelong backs. Forward entries were often poor and that didn't help his cause. Jones is a long way off promotion to the seniors. He is still very rushed with his disposals, almost 'hot potato' like on occasions. If he could be a bit more measured he would be more effective. He really needs an off-season of drinking lots of protein drinks and many hours in the weight room.
Cleary played a reasonable game but didn't have his usual output. JJ is still being 'managed' with time on the ground but looked classy when he did get it. I agree with Oliver above; think he needs at least another VFL game.

Can anyone give their opinion on Bailey Vanderhuev please. Where did he play, back / forward ? Is Darcy injured?

Van de huevel arguably played his best game for our VFL team against the Cats. 19 disposals with 10 marks proves that his aerial ability is very good. He is a straight-ahead type of defender and has a wide turning circle. He's also prone to the odd disposal howler, much like Gardner. He's still quite young, about 20 I think, and for a 200cm developing key defender, he may figure in future draft discussions.
No idea why Darcy didn't play - flu?

Think it's also worth acknowledging that descriptors like "lazy" have been used to marginalise and discriminate against indigenous peoples for centuries, and for that reason it is important to be careful about how we use these labels.

Of course, not suggesting that there was any such intention in the previous post. I just think it is worth people being cognizant of the fact that (1) these types of labels are likely to carry more "weight" as insults when used to describe indigenous peoples; and (2) you are much more likely to offend people using that language in this context.
No harm in the reminder but it's blatantly obvious that Libber39's lazy was referable to 1 quarter of football by nothing more than a footballer. Gordo16's objection was to the noun, not the adjective. I didn't even know that Ugle-Hagan is a father

Thought Smith had a much better game then previous outings.

Butler had a very good last qtr also. Kicked the ball a lot better in the last, he does butcher it too much.

Highlights are up. It was certainly a game where only one or two players stood out, it's a shame that both our AFL & VFL team had a bye this weekend as I'd like to have seen someone put their hand up alongside Schache.

Schache is the best set shot in the league and it’s not even close. Smoothest action I’ve ever seen.
