I might be wrong but did the club request to have a sunday afternoon game on the WA long weekend in June.

Hence possibly why the lions game would be a sunday.

They did last year against the Dogs and there was talk they wanted it to be an annual thing.
last year the game against the dogs was a 4:40 start and was a genuine evening game, especially the 2nd half. this is just the usual sunday afternoon game that's being polished with the long weekend.

Fremantle’s round 12 clash with Brisbane at Optus Stadium, a game that currently features the second and third placed teams on the ladder, will be played on Sunday 5 June at 3.20pm, the day before the WA Day public holiday.

the passive aggressiveness in this is enjoyable at least

At least now any pretence that performance is rewarded by prime time fixtures can be dropped, the AFL may as well give us the finger and straight up tell the club we don’t make them enough money via TV ratings. Meanwhile, bottom 4 Essendon have 3 consecutive Friday nights lol get ****ed VFL

I didn't realise the rounds 16-19 fixture had been released. Had to get a new phone yesterday and was busy Friday night so slipped under the radar.

Friday night game against Richmond is a nice reward.

Playing Melbourne at Optus is scheduled for the following week hopefully we can hold our form for another 3 weeks and get B2B Friday nights when the next fixture is released.

Good article / lay-out of the fixtures, considering they were a top 4 side last year, Geelong have been given a ridiculous draw with only 8 games against top 8 teams if the current top 8 stays consistent (and Collingwood are playing some very good footy).

Carlton have really had a cruisy draw so far and their run home means they are probably out of the running for a top 4 spot, same with St Kilda's run home but they got shafted with potentially 11 games against top 8 sides

We might have 6 bottom 10 teams left to play but two of them are Richmond and Dogs who are semi top-8's as it stands
