Trespassers don't get shot because we are not wired like that here & we have strict gun laws.
If someone is trespassing, the law is on the side of the property occupier because the law says there are no good reasons for trespassing.
Trespassing is a strict liability offense. Strict liability gives no wriggle room. The act is enough.
So can we use deadly force on an unarmed trespasser who is not a threat in Australia?

How many police have died in the line of duty? Heaps and heaps. How many African Americans have killed other African Americans, more than any other demographic. What has this got to do with Ashley Babbit, absolutely nothing.

Police shot and killed someone trying to enter a building during a riot.
Poor rioter, she was just peacefully trying to storm the Capital after having breached multiple police barricades and lines.

Sometimes s**t gets real.

Yep.
It's not about them, it's about you.
Would a reasonable person hold a fear that a trespasser was there to harm them?
Everyday of the week.

Tell us, what good reason is there for not believing that a trespasser is there to do you harm?
Keeping in mind that the act of trespassing means the intruder has already broken the law, now after having already broken the law, they're suddenly a law abiding citizen?
Nah. Shoot first. Ask questions later.

EDIT: I'll repeat again: It doesn't happen here because that is not how we are wired and we have strict gun laws.

There were many highly publicised murders of unarmed black americans in the last few years, which are just a tiny sample of such, that weren't committed by blacks.
None of the victims were committing a serious offense, let alone breaking into a government building to harm or kill politicians.

Perhaps you're living under a rock or ignoring them for convenience.
African American murders which are far higher than other groups are committed by....African Americans.

Trump does not respect democracy?
Sure doesn't
The duly elected President of the United States does not respect democracy?
Not the 45th one
The 80 million Americans who voted for Trump do not respect democracy?
The ones who wanted Biden removed and Trump installed and to this day still claim the election was stolen, in complete absence of accepted evidentiary standards and proof - no, they most certainly don't.
Does an old demented man, Biden, that is the laughing stock of the world respect democracy?
Yes. When he gets voted out in 2024, compare and contrast what he does with Trump's schtick, things might become clearer for you.
The head of a crime gang that allows his son to rake in millions of dollars from China and the Ukraine respect democracy?
Better let the GOP Senate Committee who investigated and found "its a bad look" know. I'm sure they just missed it or something :tearsofjoy:

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with :thumbsu:

That's because he rightfully believed that he had the election stolen by voter fraud.
Oh. You're one of those.

lol

It is his democratic right to explore every legitimate avenue. That does not make him a conspirator.
Just outline for us how asking state reps to 'find' votes and pressuring his VP to ignore the constitution then sicking his supporters onto him when he doesn't is 'legitimate'.

No I'm just a person with a different outlook. Nothing complicated.
Certainly a different outlook.

  • Trump rightfully believed that he had the election stolen by voter fraud;
  • There was vandalism, assaults etc. but nothing out of the ordinary;
  • We should take anything the Jan 6 hearings say with a grain of salt. It's all theatre … created to vindicate the false imprisonment of hundreds of Americans in federal prisons - a bunch of Rino's pushing this charade simply to stop Trump running for president in 2024; and
  • Biden is the laughing stock of the world. The head of a crime gang.

But …… you are “apolitical, from good yeoman stock with a streak of Puritanism.”

Trump’s ‘unique viewpoint’, enabling him to grift $250m from his marks, certainly didn’t stem from puritanism.

Thank God that I live in Australia where our political parties , labor and liberal both do excellent jobs. We have a democratic system of the highest, with politicians that we can depend on.

Trump didn’t concede, still hasn’t conceded and tried every trick in the book to try and overturn a free and fair election.

He is currently putting steps in place to do it again.

Close aides, advisers and family members, including daughter Ivanka Trump, testified that they told then-President Donald Trump in the days and weeks after Nov. 3, 2020, that he had lost the White House to Joe Biden and that his increasingly outlandish fraud claims were meritless, according to recordings played by the panel.

Imagine believing Trump's BS when even his daughter doesn't.

It is a gift that keeps on giving.

Once a bid for election is lost donations dry up. Who is going to ‘throw good money after bad’, by giving to a lost cause.

The beauty with the ‘fraudulent election’ scam was the use of lawsuits as loss leaders - to stiff credulous MAGA supporters into donating to “fight election fraud” - $250 million!!

I don’t think for a moment that the revelations of Trump’s insiders will change his marks’ minds, but rather it will cause them to double and triple down on the Big Lie – making them more dangerous and perhaps more violent.

18 months after Trump's loss the only actual electoral fraud uncovered has been a small handful of Trumpkins voting for their relatives, dead or alive. Imagine still thinking that there was cheating on a scale large enough to affect the outcome and that it was the Democrats doing it. Such delusional projection.
