A harsh sentence? They didn't recieve a sentence.
And you are once again spreading misinformation. 10 month sentence with 7 suspended. They did the 3 months. No appeal.

We went from 'they didn't receive a sentence' to 'they got 10 months in jail, 7 months suspended, and convicted' pretty quickly.

Apparently I'm the one spreading misinformation. Facepalm.

Explain to me how the fact those two wealthy people getting jail sentences is proof that the laws did not apply to wealthy people.

If you have a problem with billionaires breaking rules, then it boggles the mind why you'd attend/support/sympathise with the fat billionaire who organised, funded and/or contributed to many of the freedumb protests. A billionaire who has broken many rules without punishment, himself.

Even more embarrassing and hypocritical if you voted for said billionaire's party. :drunk:

Two different cases. The GF guy went to prison, no appeal involved like you stated. The wealthy father/son in the helicopter didn't get any prison time.

You are working really hard to avoid admitting you are wrong. Just admit it and move on to the question of why you weren't allowed to see your father before he died. Unfortunately for you if you concede that the covid rules weren't applied fairly you will be accused of being a nazi.

zill billionaires are s**t.

Clive Palmer was funding lots of the protests and Craig Kelly was using nazis as security

Have fun

Two different cases. The GF guy went to prison, no appeal involved like you stated.

So he was an outlier, seeing as only 1 in 6 people charged with that offence, actually went to prison, and of those that did go to prison and appealed, those prison sentences were overturned on appeal.

Stop. Read the above. Understand you're wrong. And give up.

The wealthy father/son in the helicopter didn't get any prison time.

Yes they did, they got 8 month prison sentences, suspended. Which is actually more than what most people convicted of this offence got.

Their prior flawless record (a mitigating factor in sentencing) saved them.

Just admit it and move on to the question of why you weren't allowed to see your father before he died.

Because he had a Stroke, and died within 24 hours, which wasn't enough time for me to get an exemption, and travel to Tasmania, in time to see him.

That's the reason.

And I support the bans, mandates and travel exemptions. Because (unlike you) I'm not a selfish campaigner.

Only 1 in 6 people convicted in WA got a prison sentence. And all of those prison sentences were overturned on appeal.
This is what you posted. Clearly not all the sentences were overturned on appeal, otherwise there wouldn't have been people in prison. What the father/son did was arguably worse considering the amount of cases in the country in Feb 2022 compared to Oct 2021. Of course the footy guys didn't have a billionaire to give a character reference.

In December, she pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a direction in a Perth Magistrates Court and was sentenced to six months jail, suspended for 12 months.

During an appeal, she successfully argued the sentence was manifestly excessive, with the WA Supreme Court quashing her suspended jail sentence on Tuesday and instead issuing her a $1000 fine and a spent conviction.

The woman is the fourth person to successfully appeal their jail sentence for breaching quarantine laws in WA.

Victorian woman given jail term for visiting dying father in WA wins appeal

60+ charges for breaching quarantine laws in WA.

Only 10 resulted in prison sentences (suspended or otherwise), and of those, at least 4 were appealed, and in every case those prison sentences were overturned.

zill then uses the case of a Millionaire and his Son, who got 8 month prison sentences, as proof that millionares dont play by the same rules as everyone else.

They actually got among the harshest sentences of anyone, particularly considering their prior clean records.

So much derp zill. SO much derp.

We could save many lives by locking down every year during flu season. Do you think we should have lockdown during Winter every year?
Your right. If we cannot save every life, we shouldn't bother saving any of them.

They make us wear seatbelts, drive slowly, build cars with airbags, crumple zones, side impact protection, and people still die, what is the ******* point.

How much simpler would life be, and how much cheaper would cars be, if we just did away with all that unnecessary crap. You choose to put your family in a car, responsibility is on you.

I think all those fire brigade and ambulance teams are also a sign of the rampant evil of socialist leftie libtards. Do away with them

You choose to get in a car, get your ******* self out, you shouldn't be expecting the taxpayer to do it for you.

You cannot get yourself and your family out of the firey wreck, you just dont want it enough.

You know this is a nonsense argument right? How are seatbelts etc stopping you from earning a living?

How much cheaper would cars be without safety features? How many jobs lost because of that government mandated cost impost.

You know the argument, "but people die of 'insert stupid death of choice here', so why do we mandate vaccines for covid" is a nonsense argument right?

As stated above, getting a vaccine doesn't stop you earning a living.

But not getting a flu vaccine, in an area where flu vaccines are compulsory, does stop you earning a living in that area, if you want to be a campaigner, and refuse the vaccine, but still expect a job.

Ditto whooping cough, ditto hepatitis, all of which are a condition of employment for some people.

The Nuremburgh trials skimmed the top of the Nazi regime but the vast majority of card carrying nazis simply went back to their families and old jobs. They were not prosecuted. It had all to do by the Allies to keep Germany from the Ruskies.
Now this is the bad part, no one, I repeat no one in the western world was interested in bringing the SS to task. Many mad keen Nazis simply were absorbed into German society. There were many nazis who were recruited by the yanks. Others took off to South America. The Jews would have you believe that they hunted down nazis but the sad fact is that many senior nazis did not hide their identity. What would you say is the dumbest thing a wanted Nazi could do, how about working as a salesman for Mercedes Benz or operating a German small goods shop. These people were allowed to operate in plain sight and were not chased by Simon Wiesenthal or others. The same thing happened for the Japanese. (Interesting that the Japanese refused to pay war reparations to allied countries, Australia was dudded and so was China.)
