I've been trying to get this out of swamp on Twitter, but no dice thus far. Wondering if this is the closest ever meeting between 1st and 2nd on the ladder in terms of overall record? Currently level on wins and separated by just 0.18%.

if we cant beat syd or coll, i can't see any chance of us beating Brisbane. Not with Ben Brown as our key forward .

With may planned to come back in Melbourne will get their defense back up, but their forward line has been pretty pathetic for a premiership side. Ben Brown he was pretty decent in 2021 I don't know what's happened. Melbourne every single week look to change their forward line up but in the past 3 weeks have scored less than 10 goals so the forward line seriously needs to step up for this game.

Will be more a litmus test for Lions than Dees imo, given location and their failures in previous seasons, and the high expectations on them given Dee's recent form fluctuation.

Dees will bounce back, just a matter of when. We know how very good they are. I think they will rise to this occasion.

I still think Melbourne's slump is because they timed their training load from West Coast to the bye to peak for finals. Yeah, their forward line's not great, but defence and midfield are more important for winning flags. I reckon the Dees will run everyone to the ground when it counts.

Squiggle still has this at Melbourne 85 - 70 Brisbane Lions ... the odds on the AFL match site are 1.68 Dees to 2.19 Lions.

Hopefully will be a ripper of a game and we can log a win at the MCG!

85-70 sounds about right Dees will probably bounce back at the G and we'll likely get them back when we play at the other G

Gawn out and a rusty May is big though

Melbourne will just need to be better than letting the interstate opposition kick 13 goals to their 1 across 2 and a bit quarters on their home deck.

The best Attack in the AFL vs the best Defence in the AFL this should be a beauty
Are Brisbane having an intra-club game?
