2022 All Aus Predictions and Rolling teams

Melbourne, easier to dominate in winning teams. Massive downhill skier. They won without him and Trac playing well last night. Oliver can’t carry a midfield like Cripps can and has done. I don’t even like Carlton but could you imagine Cripps in this Dees team instead of Oliver wow unbeatable.
Though a rather obvious troll, where has Carlton been successful while Cripps was "carrying" the midfield?

Time for Dion Prestia and Nick Vlastuin to be crowned all Australian.

Im absolutely sick of 3x Premiership champions being dismissed.

Prestia and Vlastuin have been champions for years, Prestia a Best and Fairest in a premiership season, time for some recognition.

Disgrace. This 2007 All Australian team was half Geelong. An entire dynasty later, Tigers can barely muster a handful of different players to make the AA team.
While that is true that those guys have been great players in a dynasty, to be fair long term performance should not have any bearing on the AA team for an individual season.

It should be a 2022 only team, like 2021 should be a 2021 team etc. Using past years because a player "deserves" it, makes a mockery of the premise IMO.

Richmond are the greatest example of a team. Ultimate success through even performance and players playing their roles. The whole is far greater than the sum of it's parts with us.

Doesn’t have to be successful. Like GAJ at the Suns he carries the team, Oliver hasn’t done that and probably never will. When Dees are good he’s good when Dees are bad he’s bad.

I think he’s point is that our best and fairest in premiership years apart from Dusty have not been in the AA team. That’s a little odd no? Meanwhile cats get 5/6 AAs every year for 10 years and done zilch with it.

This is absolute nonsense, genuinely staggered that anyone could possibly believe this.

Which part and why?
The part that I bolded. There’s literally zero evidence that Oliver is bad when the team plays poorly. He’s won best and fairests in seasons that we’ve finished 9th, 17th and 1st, and his contested game has been equally good in each of those years. He regularly wins us games off his own boot and puts in BOG performances in losses.

GAJ was just as quick and powerful and sustained it for longer IMO.
Different players IMO.

Whilst powerful and quick, GAJ was more slippery than Judd, a few more tricks in the bag. Judd was raw just straight line power and speed, so hard to tackle.

One is Alvin Kamara, the other is Nick Chubb.

Oliver's B&F results over the last five seasons:

  • 2017 (Dees 9th after H&A): 1st
  • 2018 (Dees 5th after H&A): 2nd
  • 2019 (Dees 17th after H&A): 1st
  • 2020 (Dees 9th after H&A): 5th
  • 2021 (Dees 1st after H&A): 1st

Yeah so most of the time he is. Also only got AA is 2018 and 2021. So the Dees finished 5th and premiers.

Chris Judd was arguably the best player of all time in terms of pace and power for his size, especially in his WCE days. Oliver is nowhere near him in that sense. A very good player yes, but for entirely different reasons. Definitely closer to Tom Mitchell in that regard.
Watch more football. If you want to talk pace. Patrick plodder Cripps is the guy that we need to talk about. Oliver is significantly quicker. Significantly.

Oliver had power. This is something guys like Brayshaw don't have. he has no power compared to guys like Oliver and Trac. Cripps could have power but its only on show for maybe 3 games a year.

That's why Oliver will be starting AA mid and Cripps may not even make the team. Brayshaw will be lucky to make the starting 18.

Cripps is a unit though, he wins it through strength and shrugging off tackles. Inside mids don’t really need speed many of them are plodders. Outside mids need the speed. If you don’t have units like Cripps in the team you get a crappy midfield like us, we are super quick but weak as s**t, can’t stick tackles and can’t mark. I think Cripps is like 6’5, scary with is muscle mass.

yeah he's tall..big deal. he is one of the worst defensive starting midfielders in the afl.

He was bad in 2020, he was bad in 2021. he was great the first half of this year and then average since.

Oliver has been a jet since season 1. Not 1 bad season despite having dodgy shoulders.

Rich are fine. But its time for cotchin to move out of the midfield. get soem fresh faces in there.

Danster vs Falcon, the battle of the century. BigFooty's two biggest intellects going head to head.

Who wins? Who knows. Who loses? Anyone whose brains have been tormented into reading it.
What did Juddernaut08 do wrong to get relegated out of the top two positions?

I’ll save you the trouble

I think Cripps had back fractures which f’ed him up. Not sure how long it affected him though, at least the whole 2021 season.

Most of the time he's what? Good?

But don't you think he gets carried by unspecified Melbourne players?

Most of the time he’s only good if he’s team is good. 2019 is an outlier, especially since you guys finished in the prelim the previous year with the same list. To this day I don’t think anybody knows exactly why this happened.

Dusty is one of the worst defensive runners in the comp... better delist him by that logic! Cripps lays more tackles per game even though he pushes forward away from the stoppages. I guess Oliver must just be real bottom of the barrel on the defensive scale 😂

You've proved time and time again to have no clue about footy Dan. That's why half the Melbourne board have u blocked and the rest classify you as some sort of insult or meme to use against others when they are being dumb.

When has he not been good? When he finished 5th in our B&F in a season we finished 9th?

Only got AAs in 2018 and 2021. 5th in B&F is not impressive, he probably tied with multiple people as well. Also how were his years before 2017 you haven’t given me any.
