USA Roe, the evangelicals and the war on choice

This is the legacy of RBG for refusing to step down in obamas second term.
Not really, she would have been replaced by one of her own side, so numbers would be the same.

Yeah getting 60 senate votes on this issue would be very difficult. This is still a legislative issue though like it is everywhere else in the world, its their mess they need to sort it out.
We never sorted it out here at federal level either. We have been reliant on the states to make the decisions. Our states are just no longer controlled by religious nutters Unlike many in the usa.

Republicans refusing Obama's pick late in his term was an act of pure bastardry considering how they rushed that Jesus freak Coney-Barrett through.

There should be an investigation on how Kennedy? resigned and Kavanaugh got there. Saw rumours that his son got his house paid for.

Surely they could be held into contempt as when asked about Roe v Wade both new SCJ stated it was settled law. Lying under oath?

I fear that America is broken to the point where this can't be solved via the current system of government and law.

With the current way of elections there’s no way this will solved legislatively.

Senate is dominated by the larger amount of lesser populated Republican states.

The larger number of lesser populated Republican states has gerrymandered house districts to their advantage.

Again the higher number of GOP states gives them an advantage in the electorate college.

Sotamayor and Kagan are likely to be replaced by Republicans. The court could be 8-1 conservatives in 2035.

By the same so was Ginsberg holding out to retire in 2017 as she was convinced Hillary would win and wanted a female president to appoint her replacement. Well look how good that turned out……

Given the divergent views across the US states they are almost never going to agree on legislation at the federal level. Devolution of power closer to the people and their local legislators.

It pleases me that Kavanaugh's going to spend the rest of his days looking over his shoulder and worrying about the safety of his family. Perhaps he might one day stop and wonder why this is be happening to him.

Surely Biden will now just pass federal legislation? The Dems have control so why not?

It always seemed a bit odd that it was legalised as a 'constitutional' right anyway.
They need 60 senate votes, they have about 45 who might be pro choice. Plus President Biden only pretends to be pro choice.

Democrats play fair, Republicans win. Obama was way too timid.

They don’t have control. Minchin is a grifter who doesn’t give a flying * about the rest of the party (ie “true American libertarian “)

dont worry there will be plenty of states that will still allow it, its just a law reverting is from a federal level to a state level
So why can’t a state then choose to regulate guns because of a bullshit interpretation by the gun fellating corrupt campaigners on the Supreme Court ?

You're right, if that is indeed happening to him it isn't going to stop, because this issue isn't going away.
