Yep, Murray as 2nd ruck is really intriguing. I think that if we're going to persist with that though, we need an extra taller player in defence for cover (we don't want Doedee playing 2nd KPD, ever)
It annoys me that people aren’t getting more excited re his games in defence . He’s bloody hard to beat in a contest

Just stopped in over at the North board. Some of their supporters are pretty devastated. I think some of them must have thought this game was a genuine chance and weren't expecting to be thrashed.

Adelaide have been pretty bad this year but the work rate of our players is generally okay. It's evident we lack polish and top end talent but they crack in. North are more like us in 2020 where they not only lack talent, but the effort of some of their senior brigade is just not at the level.
Yep we certainly have a red hot crack almost all of the time

Fog and Tex very good and Rowe a nice cameo.

Liked what Murray offered on-ball. Any chance he could pinch hit in there more often - even if not in Ruck? His size and power is something we lack on ball. He gives the ball a decent hoof when he kicks it too - so a win from the middle goes 25m out from goal instead of wobbling to a spot between the centre square and 50m line. Well done to the coaches for trying this.

O’Brien’s clunk and goal up forward, I want to see more of. While Thilthorpe is out injured/not up to AFL yet and if Himmelberg has a line ruled through him, play Strachan as well and give them some more time forward and sharing the Ruck duties.

Schoenberg showed glimpses of why he needs to be in the team. He, Milera and Rachele all need big pre-seasons. All aren’t where they need to be at physically/mentally but have it in them to be players that could take this team up the ladder in seasons to come. Probably add Cook to that. Fogarty is one who is now showing this consistently and Berry is another doing this in his 2nd season. These guys need to follow. Despite the love for Rachele on here, he is miles off in his application/toughness, but is class.

Dawson continues to be our best player by a mile. Great pick up. Laird very good.
What i like about murray pinch hitting in ruck is that he is ultra competitive when the ball hits the ground. He would be almost like an extra mid at the contest

Some stats:
Only the 14.4km distance covered by Soligo this week, enough to be second highest behind Hately at 15.3km. Berry still our pressure king with 26 pressure acts, currently averaging 27.5 for the season and is still the highest tackler in the league with 8.10 per game, 13 today (round high).

Interestingly despite not being a pure mid currently, Berry stacks up well against Matty Rowell. Rowell is second on tackles per game (7.36), first for pressure acts per game (28.8) and with more mid time 6.4 clearances to Berrys 4.1, not to mention Berry is our lowest non sub affected time on ground player at 67.7% (Rowell averages 83.5% tog).

By far Fogartys best game today hitting pbs of disposals (20), kicks (14),marks (8), inside 50s (6), metres gained (458), score involvements (10) and effective disposals (15) with equal best goal assists (2), marks inside 50 (4), contested marks (3).

Rowe is a country mile better than Murphy and McHenry he's the one of the three that deserves to stay
Rowe is the best of a bad bunch but he's still not good enough. Would prefer Newchurch and pedlar as our smalls up forward. We should also target rankine.

You're on a hiding to nothing with these games. Win and so you should. Lose and it's club in crisis. There's no winning.

Tarryn Thomas for Wayne Milera and a pick upgrade?

Liked us trying Murray in ruck if only because it's a structural change. We're usually so blinkered with our thinking. Hope to see more of these experimental moves in the back end of the season. Find out what we have.

Even if they sack Nobel who in their right mind would want that North Job?

It's a coaching career killer. Small Melbourne club with a poor list.

Adam Simpson getting sacked by West Coast and hired by North is literally their best option

We have Tex and ..............................................................??

You did put "quality", if you had just put older players we could add a few more.
+ Laird, Keays, Dawson, Doedee & Smith producing more than their older players.

Surely Simpson would go elsewhere like GWS.

Id be using some of our cap space to put 4 years at $850k in front of Izak right now..

It might take something like that to pry him loose.. why else would he want to leave a team on the up to come play for us..

Frontload it to get some of it out of
the way now and also bank on the fact the salary cap will return to higher than pre-covid levels in the next couple of years..

What else have we got to spend it on?…

We desperately need a shiteload more class and x-factor in the side ASAP.

Suns wont be able to match it…

Can someone explain Kayne Turner to me?

How is he still on a list? Did I hear correctly that he's in the leadership group?!
