I don't think Stewart had the intent that May and Cameron did with elbows straight to the temple that could've caused untold damage. Stewart was an old fashioned shirtfront that went a bit wrong. I suppose these days 4 is about right seeing they take into account consequences.

Wow😮
Clayton Oliver just been signed until 2030.
Jackson is gone surely.

IIRC he was never under serious consideration for us in the 2015 draft but us taking Josh Schache at pick 2 and Clayton Oliver going at pick 4 is what the purple knob would call a sliding door.

We were always taking Schache, he was a feel good story and we were in desperate need of key forwards, all the scuttlebutt was we would have taken him at pick 1 over Weitering if we had it as well.
sucks that schache was the only real bust in the top 5

mills, oliver and parish all going afterwards hurts to see in current year

id actually take mills if we got to redo the draft but im pretty sure he was a sydney academy player so was always going there - runs all day, good defensively and is a tackling machine would be perfect for our midfield

You have to also consider that if we drafted Oliver he may have helped us win a few more games and potentially missing out on McCluggage & Rayner.

Another thing the trade deal for Schache allowed us to draft Bailey so it's not all doom and gloom
Zac along with Dan are two of the kids favourties after they did a clinic up here a few years ago and anything that resulted in us getting a Zac is ace in there books.

Who remembers Round 23 season 2015?

We narrowly beat the Dogs at the Gabba to avoid the spoon on %age.

So we ended up with pick 2 instead of pick 1.

There were some on here and indeed in the wider AFL community who decried our "stupidity" in potentially missing out on the much sought after Schache and blowing Pick 1 by playing for the win in that last round match.

Of course, the Blues ended up taking Weitering at 1 and there was great relief and rejoicing among our ranks that the golden child had "slipped" to us at Pick 2.

You have to laugh at the absurd irony of it all

The Brisbane Lions do not tank!

I think at least one poster departed, never to be heard from again after we didnt lose that last game. imagine being disappointed we didn’t lose.

The sheer hypocrisy of some of the media gurus was breathtaking.

After all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about "perceived" tanking by other clubs in previous years, a lot of them were actually rubbishing us for NOT doing the very same thing.

Which reminds me.

Remember Melbourne copping a fine from the AFL who at the same time, cleared them of tanking?. When the AFL announced the fine, it made some mealy mouthed statement about Melbourne "not selecting their best side", which was NOT tanking....apparantly.

So Melbourne got fined for NOT tanking:drunk:

Watching the pre game on channel 7 and gee Hodgey is looking more and more like like Stuart Dew every day, looks like he swallowed a sheep.

Gutsy effort from the Saints.

Been close to being blown away a few times but have hung in there and punished the wasteful Blues on transition.

2 goals lead.

If they can keep their composure, a massive boiloveris looming

Will be interesting.

Such a big statement game last week from Carlton, would be a little wasted if they don't get the win tonight.

Well done Saints.
Bad locking is bad football.
Saints finished with one guy on thr bench and got reamed by the ups
