I didn't think it was particularly damning compared to what we already knew. But he has lost 15 points amongst seniors since May, which is approximately when the committee began.

The meaningful part there was probably that he didn't want to say the election was over and he wouldn't emphasise punishment for his supporters.

But the other day some official from the GOP in Wisconsin said Trump just asked him again last week to overturn the 2020 results in that state. So at this point, nothing is suprising.

I don't think the purpose of the hearings is meant to be surprising, merely confirmation of Trump's behaviour and dereliction of duty and his oath.

To that extent, they are doing it extremely well.

It is now a case of so-what isn't it - the hearings were really just confirmatory. Its either something that will lead to DOJ doing something (incredibly doubtful) or give the GOP fuel enough to favor De Santis post November.

His support is slowly shrinking , I don't see him as a viable candidate anymore regardless of the punishment he receives.

Just watched the Congresswoman that did a lot of the questioning say that there is so much more in the outakes.

His 3 minute speech took over an hour to film. Mistakes, refusal to say certain words, mispronouncing.

What? It is just an expression, think you are reading too much into it.

For me it was the photo of him before the attack then the other video of him running. Weak as pi$$.

Not sure that saying a woman's virgina ornament on the hood of Trump's SUV would have the same affect. Although wouldn't put it past him.

Probably not. But the extraordinary thing about Jan 6 (and the committee has made this very point) is that whilst in the following days and weeks it seemed like everyone, including the GOP, was shunning Trump, he’s since managed to hold an unfathomably bizarre hold on the Republican Party.

If this peels away even a few percent of supporters away from him, it’s worthwhile. The bloke can’t be allowed anywhere near the levers of power again.
