We actually have a great developmental history .....# rookies that have come thru .....the fact, we recovered from Tippetgate trade sanctions in 4 years to reach a GF .....whereas both CARL & ESS still haven't recovered, with lesser sanctions

Happy for you to provide your rationale to support your POV
We used to but it all went to shit after Jonas and Stewart left.

Well for whatever reason (camp) we pushed one of our best ever players out the door.
Well done AFC.
Betts was always heading back to Victoria when his playing days were done. His playing days were over with us. Happy wife, happy life

I'm not sure I buy what Nicks is selling here. If there is no smoke surrounding Crouch, there is no reason to be standoffish about answering questions about him. This "I'm offended and won't be taking more questions about this" routine is making me lean toward the rumours being true.
You jest surely, every ****ing interview these same clowns raise the same questions and have had the same answers yet they continue with the same mind numbing line.

It's a list management decision. Nicks might indeed rate Matt and want him to stay (which would explain why he was denying the rumour). If the list managers see value in trading him though, he's gone.

Not sure what your point is, the story since been proven to be totally incorrect was that Nick's yes Nick's had told Crouch that he would not have his contract renewed which Nick's has categorically said never happened. The clowns that ran with that story obviously couldn't even get that part of their furphy right.

Of course Crouch may decide to seek more AFL opportunities elsewhere but he's contracted for 2023 so he's only gone if he's agreeable to the trade.

We are gifting games to the underperformers in the AFL:
McHenry
Jones
Smith
OBrien
Milera

Why has Strachan not been given games while Obrien has slumped?
Taylor dominated in the SANFL why can't he have a crack in McHenrys spot?
Scholl has been regularly going well an yet Milera/Jones both failed on the wing

Strachan HAS been given games.

Taylor had one very good game. Was okay before that after being injured for a lot of the year.

Sholl? Yeah, he and Worrell probably deserves games

Facts are they haven't.
Murphy has averaged half a goal a game as a small forward.
That's horrible.

Him not getting replaced with a player who is performing smacks of a lack of selection integrity.
Obviously Murphy does some of the non negotiables that they felt others weren't doing, such as showing actual genuine endeavour.

Who are talking about?

Betts wanted to keep playing but he was obviously finished and would stopp us giving others opportunities.

We didn't push him out the door. We held true to our commitment to rebuilding and Betts didn't want to be a part of it, so we helped him go home

Well, I don’t know but… maybe, just maybe Nicks saying something that makes Nicks looks bad isn’t true, isn’t necessarily 100% settled as gospel

I’m not sure it’s true either, but I don’t reckon nicks sayings it’s not true sways me too much
Would be very very easy for someone in Crouch's camp to leak that he's lying, if for some random reason he did.

Feels far more likely a journo just put mayo on a rumour they heard.

I'd give Taylor one or two games, but am happy for him to wait until he has another pre-season under his belt before he gets an extended run

Sholl is a bit whatever. Worrell definitely should've been seen at AFL level more, given how he'd change our defensive dynamic IMO for the better

Eddie was always going "home" to Melbourne once he finished playing.

Will and Pembo once asked him around 2016/17 about living in Adelaide post career. He was honest and said he will move back home to Melbourne. Wife is from there and he feels that is home.

Never lived in Adelaide before playing with us.

He moved to Melbourne in his mid teens.

We were never going to extend his contract and it was win/win him wanting to go home a year early.

I agree. I don’t think it’s true either.
I think it’s not true because it makes no sense for it to have happened, not because the coach said it didn’t.

Perhaps the question shouldn’t have even gotten that far to Nicks because of the pointlessness of any answer he could give

Once again we need to go back 10 years though for good drafting and development. The development sine 2016 not to good. Losing 2 of our best 3 young players in the same year as making a GF indicates something has been wrong for a while

Isn't that separate to player development .....agree, player retention has been a bit of an issue .....Clubs have known Crows players can be levered out by a juicy Contract
